I am your go to guy. When people get sick of my dissections, they'll man up and do some. :)

I'll try to get something up by Feb 9, 10 tops.

If you'd like to do this one ... go ahead. Do I need to mock the smock?

Heh, sorry, I was mainly just making a joke. I would like to do it, since the last one was fun, but I don't think I have the time right now to do it. Sorry, and good luck.-jay

Brave Sir Robin ran away.
Bravely ran away, away!
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Robin turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Sir Robin!

Thank you Wayfriend, you're helping us save the read! The rest of you need to join in-the most intense part of the book is coming up!! (or you'll be sorry when things become clearer in Fatal Revenant :D )

If the Runes dissection has been sluggish in drawing participation, I think the reason is obvious: the book has already been discussed to death in the Runes forum.

(And it should be said that some of us are simply no longer willing to participate.)

The only way for a Fatal Revenant dissection to avoid similar apathy is to do it very soon after the book is released. That should make the FR group read the hottest ticket at KW.

That's my 2 cents.

Just calling it as I see it.

Some of us wanted to dissect Runes a long time before we finally started. (And some of us missed the earliest Runes discussions because we hadn't read the book yet.)

But that's behind us. If anyone thinks its been done to death, they should dare to participate. Because this is not a haphazard discussion of whatever snags our attention; it's a top-to-bottom, no stone unturned kind of thing. I for one have learned quite a lot from the dissection, I've seen very many things that I did not see before.

For example, it wasn't until I dissected The Will of the Ranyhyn that I realized one of Donaldson's goals in the Final Chronicles must be to redeem the Haruchai, to finally give them an answer that suffices.

There were a number of reasons why the Runes dissection took as long as it did to get started, yes everyone having access to it was one consideration, getting the other dissections done: MN, WGW (and recovering from them) was another. I am just encouraging others to join. I think a number of folk will pop in as they reread Runes in anticipation for FR.

Compared to the second half of the WGW dissection the number of Runes posts is very healthy-from a very devoted core. The quality of those dissections is outstanding. So I'm not too worried. Yes MM I agree with you wholeheartedly about FR (and the rest of TFCTC), that's been my thought ever since the Runes dissection started to begin the FR dissection no later than two months after it's release. But I needed help and a kickstart for all this and, fortunately, that's where dlb came in. 8)

I've got to read Runes first :) Will happily dissect something then if there's anything left. I've had the book pretty much since it cam out but have been hesitant to read it because I'd have to wait ages for the next one

I'm enjoying the dissection, but I do wish more would participate. I remember when we dissected 1st Chronicles - ah, the good ol' days. ;)

It's not Linden's fault!! :x ;)

I'd love to participate but haven't really got the time--and I haven't reread Runes since it was first released. However, when you guys start doing Fatal Revenant dissections I'll certainly put my hand up for one or two of those!
