Matrix, I couldn't agree more.

His response: "Holy $&!^. He's not kidding! Look at all these muffins!"

In the beginning stages of spring break. Haven't even gotten to the creamy center.

A friend and I tried to go to 300 on Friday, but it was sold out. Going to watch it Tuesday.

The middle of the week is always easier. Less people.

I saw 300 opening night, and then again the next night. That movie is a two hour long orgasm. That's all I have to say.

Also, I had a friend coming up to see me this weekend. He was supposed to arrive on friday and leave sunday morning. Well he got there friday, and that was all nice and then saturday morning rolled around and he got a call that his cousin was in a terrible car accident and he had to leave to drive his mother from Alabama (where she's from) to New Jersey (where her sister/nephew are) so... that shot my weekend plans with him. Had to cancel dinner reservations, etc etc. Because I'm selfish, I was super sad and did a little bit of the "I'm crying because you're suppose to be with me and I never ever get to see you" thing. /sigh. We're planning on me going down to Nashville to see him next. He's also applying for internships on the west so we can at least be near each other for the summer. (He's in college...)

/sigh.

Anyone have advice for long distance relationships? 'Cause... well, they're pretty much the crappiest thing ever.

Yes, from actual experince... I do, Wadds. Keep it light and carefree, with as few strings as is possible and practicable. In absence of such freedom, a LDR will fall into disarray born of guilt and lost expectations. If one or both parties can't keep it light-hearted than ending it is a good idea as well; with the understanding that you can pick it up when it becomes something other than a trap later. It's hard I know, but pain is better than heart-rending longing AND pain.

Love may conquer all, but before it conquers the LDR, it tends to conquer YOU first!

Yeah, that's what we've been doing... string-free and all that. I question what he does when I'm not there, and he does the same. It's just harder right after him (or I) leave.

Thank you Guns.

Might Dr. Guns prescribe the follwoing Rx: you sing a rendition of either:

a) Marc Cohn's "True Companion" or
b) J. Giles' "Love Stinks"

at tonight's kareoke gathering tonight!

Any ol time Wadds. Rememebr that it is not absence that makes the heart grow fonder... it is understanding and patience.

Waddley, my last relationship was long distance (for about 80% of it), and it was superhard. I hope that everything works out, and that you are happy in the end. |D

I had a long distance relationship with my wife of nearly eight years. She lived in Paris, and I lived in Scotland - we got to see each other about every 5 weeks or so for about 3-4 days at a time, we just tried to have as muchfun as we could when we were together and kept in touch by phone and letters - so it can work out well in the end Wadds.

Keep your chin up, and if it's meant to be, then it will be.

This weekend I'm going to see Scotland play Georgia in the UEFA Championships qualifying match at Hampden.

So a loooong day of drinking, singing, watching football (soccer to all you philistines ;) ), more drinking, with maybe a bit of celebrating, dancing and drinking thrown in too. And I'll be wearing my kilt too.

Sunday will be a day of recovering from the above revelrie and saying "never again", knowing that it'll be the same at the next game

I'll have to get my kilt dry cleaned as well 'cos it'll probably have loads of beer, guinness, whisky and other unmentionable stains on it.

Can't wait. Only two more sleeps.

8O TMI, Cjr...

I have a weekend full of rehearsals! Saturday is an all-day event (again), and if I'm lucky enough to have a voice left, we're doing it all again for three hours on Sunday afternoon! ...Would be nice if they were paying us for all this effort, but alas, we live only for the kudos and the applause (oh, and the post-concert booze up!!)

I wont have long distance relationships. They are just too difficult.

Sounds like a good day. I'm still on the hunt for a ticket. :P
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

They are exceedingly difficult. I'm sorry to read the implication that you've been having a rough time with such a relationship.

THere's no such thing as a long-distance "relationship" anyway. Either you do it, or you don't. You're there or you're not. End of story. I have a 'catch up' every now and again with a guy in Melbourne (who has also 'caught up' with me over the years when he's come to Perth) but that's all it was, and I never expected it otherwise - I call him my 'one night stand which lasted 7 years'....

I think the technical term is "pen pal"...well, it was in the snail-mail days. Suppose it's now "e-pal"?

My apologies for giving that impression. I haven't been in one for a long time. There has been some flirting with others, but that's just it.
