I can kill you with my brain...

I gotta say, I liked "Serenity" but I loved "Firefly" a bit more...if it had kept going, it would have been unstoppable...

Can't remember if I've posted in this thread or not. :) Preferred FireFly overall.

The time span gave a lot more opportunity for backstory etc.

Favourite episode? River "fixing" the old guy's bible. :D

  I would say that's definitely one of the best, except that I can't think of any episode that's any less good...

"I want to go to the crappy little town where I'm a hero...."

And Simon's expression through pretty much the whole thing....

And that's the episode with River fixing Sheppard Book's Bible, I think. And freaking out at his hair...

Zoe: River, honey... He's putting
the hair away now...

RIVER: Doesn't matter. It'll still be
there...waiting...

.....

River: Just keep walkin preacher man. :haha:

I love the last episode (can't remember the title) where the bounty hunter is aboard Serenity.

Hey - heard the news that Nathan Fillion (our beloved Captain Tightpants) is set to take the lead in a series called "Drive"...

I was so disappointed with Serenity, I did not like it at all. Plus, my favourite character died!
Firefly was far better!

I find it helps if you haven't seen Firefly for ages when you watch Serenity.

Well, many, many, many months after Alynna loaned me Firefly and Serenity (When did she give me these things, August? ), I finally started watching the thing a couple of weeks ago. And yeah, I loved them. Great characters, great stories, and great lines. And the movie wasn't as bad as I was expecting (I generally expect any movie based on something else to suck), and I really enjoyed it.

But now...there is no more... And now...I must murder A... I want more...-jay

Heh, welcome to the club. There has been talk of another movie, but I'm not sure it'll ever happen. They are re-releasing the Serenity DVD with more footage apparently; maybe if we buy that one too they'll have enough money to do that sequal.

I could be remembering wrong, but, I believe that Joss Whedon has pretty much moved on from Firefly. I believe his reaction recently has been something to the effect of "Well sure if they come begging, I'll make more, but, I'm not gonna trouble myself pushing for it" (or something along those lines, because he is saddened by the experience so far of Firefly's treatment)

Yeah, as far as I know, Firefly is dead.

I've heard there's going to be a limited cinematic re-release of Serenity (again) this summer, but other than that, Firefly is, as above, dead and gone. A damn shame, but there's nothing to be done about it.

Big news?

www.cinematical.com/2007/10/04/are-plan ... the-works/
The ever-lovable, wonder-writer/director Joss Whedon needs to get a few projects on the go. After running himself ragged with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, he brought the world a small helping of Firefly, a pretty kick-arse movie adaptation Serenity, almost made Wonder Woman, and continued the story of the slayers in comic form. Having handed over the reigns on that, what's left to do? It's not like Veronica Mars is still around for him to guest on! Well, he's still working on his supernatural Goners script after getting a bunch of studio notes, but Whedon never takes it easy, so it's not a surprise that after reviving his first beloved series, there's rumors of a Serenity 2.

Oh yes, the Browncoats might come back -- not necessarily to the big screen, but to DVD. While the film's box office didn't live up to expectations, it has, unsurprisingly, had a heck of a stint on disc. Moviehole recently chatted with Alan Tudyk (Wash), and he said: "They had to put [the new DVD] out because they've been selling out of the other one, and so Universal's like 'So, let's do another one.' And now... there's now a chance there's going to be another movie." Well, this is just about the most solid Whedon rumor you can get. While he always has a million potential projects swimming in his head, it's big news if the studios can see an audience and get interested in the idea.

So, does this make you giggle with schoolgirl-like glee? If so, keep picking up those DVDs and we might just see Serenity fly again! But heck, they could even keep the ship docked the entire time and show a lot of Summer Glau butt-kicking. Who wouldn't be up for more of that!?

Just read a similar article. Cautiously optimistic. I don't give a a crap if its a direct to DVD release. If they make it I'm there.

I'm all about some more Summer Glau. This is good news, I'm cautiously optimistic also.
