This may give you some idea of the plaque I just came back from commisioning-it doesn't have any of that inside stuff but it does have the gold border on red-maroon marble. All the writing is lasered gold with KEVINSWATCH (Ariel caps) on top-then it says: is proud to commerate the 30th anniversary of Lord Fouls Bane (in large old English script) by STEPHEN R. DONALDSON 1977-2007 with all the other writing in Times. 8)

Danlo,

That sounds wonderful. Let me know how much I can kick in to help defray the cost.

Okay, hi folks. I know I'm new around here, but this sounds like a blast, and if SRD is there, I may have to be too. I live in Denver, wouldn't be able to go until Saturday, but if anyone is flying in, doesn't want to drive alone (I'd be happy to drive if you are renting a car), go halfsies on a room, and even might want to stay Friday night in Denver (my girlfriend and I have a spare bedroom), I can't promise anything, but I might be able to assist. Please know this is a might at this stage.
Well, a bunch of us are going to gather in Denver and drive down on friday, so I don't know if anyone would be driving down saturday. BUT we'd still love to have you!!

The good stuff probably won't happen till Saturday night anyway, so don't worry about missing anything ;)

PS- that plaque is WONDERFUL!

There's always Friday night party/bbq at danlo's (we watched MP and the Holy Grail last time) or bar-hopping and Saturday morning breakfast at the Flying Star...and Tam's High Tea Sat afternoon.

The plaque I ordered doesn't have that black stuff in it-the KEVINSWATCH is based on our logo-
The color scheme and the Old English is based on this version:

I'm of the opposite mind, especially if I can get to help Lady Tam prepare for a bar-be-cue/party. That's what I thrive on.

But, I'd be happy to tag along bar-hopping after the clean-up.

The best way to help defray costs would be to kick in covering SRD's and Bob Vardeman's meal-and buy me and Menolly a drink! :P

Stephen R. Donaldson 1977-2007 looks like something you'd put on a tombstone.

Just write after his name something like "presented June 2, 2007" and leave everyone to count back 30 years. :)

No, no, no. I don't mean it to be mean.

I'm sure it will look great! 8)

It's just that in phrasing it that way doesn't look quite right and could be taken the wrong way. Better to get the wording right now.

I think the plaque will look brilliant!!!! Great idea, Danlo! :)

I confess, I thought something along the lines that Damelon did. But, hey...ya know...that doesn't mean SRD will! Come on, he'll be too blown away to be thinking anything like that! :)

I'm not going to the Elohimfest (wish I was <sigh>) but in my opinion it's going to be brilliant event with everything you've organized, Danlo! And I'm sure everyone here would agree with that! :)

Not to be read by Danlo ;) ....

The plaque's a great idea. Nice work, Danlo. 8)

(I keep accidentally reading "plaque" as "plague"...I'm not sure giving SRD a personlised plague would go down too well. )

The plaque (NOT plague) is fab, Danlo! I'll be happy to help pay for dinner for the special guests.

And, c'mon, guys, SRD won't be confused about the wording. He's already said that he's going to live forever!

The plans all sound fabulous, and Sunday works for us for a trip to Andelain -- yaaaay! Can't wait!

Right, but we don't want one of the Fates to read it and think it must be true, and bring it about. Don't tempt the Fates, I say!
