Registering/activation

Post by CovenantJr »

I tried to create a new identity for my Zombie Apocalypse character, so I can act 'in character' without it being confusing. I registered and got the activation email, but when I click the link, it says no such activation key exists.

Any suggestions from Vain or others on the technical side of the Watch?

I created a new account this morning and never received an activation email (it's been about 8 hours).

If you give me the names of those accounts, I can activate them myself manually.-jay

But Cj will no doubt want his.

However, I see in the other thread that Balon created a new ID and it obviously worked for him...

I used a crap one-timer email for that.

I've had problems in the past making more than one profile on the same email address, I think that's purposefull.

I think.

Yes, you can only have one identity per email address, but I was using a different one. I have several.

In any case, Jay has activated it manually. Thanks Jay.

My activation email arrived (hoorah), but the blank template is long gone (boo). Nevermind, the account may come in handy in future.

A bit late, but may be helpful for future reference...

Check your spam folder if you use AOL as sometimes forum registration emails get classified as spam by AOL and deleted. They seem to be very keen to add domains to their blacklists

It's not for no reason that I call them, "Eh??!!? Oh HELL!!" :P

:::bump:::

Last night I finally went ahead and created a user name here for Beorn (heh, he hates nicknames, so his user name is, predictably, Beorn). When I created it, I got an error message that said something about mail and debug (I didn't make a copy of the message, sorry).

Beorn received the welcome email but has still not received the activation one. Can anyone help, please?

With all of the spam bots on here lately, I had to turn on admin activation. I just sent the activation e-mail to him. Let me know if there are any problems.

(Although the error message worries me.)-jay

Problem.

The link takes him to the log in page, but it's not recognizing either the username or the password.

I'm unsure of which...
