Happy 30th, Star Wars!
Luke and Leia, may you always swing across that chasm without missing a beat.
Han and Chewie, may you always own the Kessel Run.
R2 and Threepio, may you always stop that diabolical garbage compactor just in time.
Obi-Wan and Lord Vader, may the clash of your sabers be heard for all time in the halls of the Death Star.

Oh yeah. That opening scene on the big screen just blew my 9-year old mind.

Star Wars is 30 years old.
Star Trek is 10 years older than that.
It really doesn't feel like its been that long.
On the other hand "I'd rather be a tortoise from Galapagos Or a span of geological time."
Its not the years its the milage.
So far and over all its been a fun/entertaining run. Give me another 100 years of Star Wars.
Happy Birthday.
And to go with all that there is a rumor floating around that we may be talking about next week. A link appears below from AICN.

I was hoping to tape that History channel documentary "Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed" because I'll be working tonight. According to that CNN article, the program is supposed to be on at 9:00 PM ET, but I don't see it anywhere on history television's schedule - at least not in Canada. Don't tell me it's only being shown in the US?

I was able to roughly enjoy the "legacy" portion of the program this evening. But was annoyed by the constant need to remind us that these programs aren't exactly free. The constant barrage of ads interrupting the show kept breaking the train of thought... Unfortunately I don't have TIVO or a DVD recorder for my tv. Ah well.
I was very, VERY glad to see they didn't mention the midi-chlorians in the special... I always felt that explanation of the "Force" to be a diminishing of the spirituality of sentient beings. Yoda's explanation in ESB is the most clearest definition of the Force.
Wished I could have stayed up to watch the TECH portion of the show, but I was disturbing others and had to shut it off after 40 minutes. SIGH!
