Your Austrailian accent is soooooo cute!!!Seareach wrote:I missed my call! BAHHHHHHHH! Stupid grocery shopping!!!
Got a message from Creator and Lucimay on my answering machine...laughed myself silly (damn I *love* American accents)!!!
We miss you little sister!!
Louise will pass you around to the Watchers here!! You soooooo need to come to the USA soon!!

So, I shoulda mentioned that I was quite dysfunctional when it comes to small talk...and giggle when I'm nervous. ANYWAY...
That said: YAY! HOW COOL!
I spoke to Creator, Lucimay, iQuestor and Waddles (and SoS spoke to Luci too! LOL!). What fun! Your accents are brilliant!
Sounds like you all are having a blast! Have a drink or three for me (oh, and someone have a cigarette for me too since I'm off the smokes again)!
And, yeah, I'll make it there to the US of A one day. Then you can have a "Seafest"!

Here's my report:
I met up with Romeo and Iquestor in the hotel lobby and we went to the liqour store to stock up then on over to Danlo's. When we got there we met the gracious Lady Tam, but Menolly was at the neighbor's making pies. She came over a bit later, and I was able to rib her about her affilitiation to that sorry ass SEC school that she's always going on about.
We mostly sat around, talking and drinking. The conversations varied but seemed to always come back to SRD and how great we all think he is. It's so cool to have someone to talk to about this kind of stuff! Damelon and crew arrived and it was great to meet them. Any of you remember when the "laughing guy" was the rage on YouTube? Damelon reminds me of that guy, he has the best laugh, and he's always laughing about something!
Lady Tam brought out some homemade salsa made from green tomatoes and jalapenos (too damn early in the morning for me to remember what it was called) but MAN was it good!
I kept getting updates from Fist about his terrible travel day, finally later in the night received word that he won't be arriving until 1pm today.
Danlo fired up the grill and Lady Tam and Menolly cooked up some great grub (have picture, will post.) We filled our plates, but being the super clutz that I am, I promptly spilled my baked beans on my lap.
Just my luck.
We talked to Drew, Balon, and Cail. Drew, liked your comment about the confederate KevinsWatch!
Late in the night, Wayfriend arrived, just in time for Menolly's key lime pie. I'm here to tell you, that was some of the best if not THE best key lime pie ever. HOLY COW. I ate a second piece, just to make sure it was good.
Romeo and I left Iquestor at Danlo's and came back to the hotel around 11pm local time (1am for us.) And that's my report.....I'm off to the album to post pics. We're to meet somewhere for breakfast at 10am, and I'll post again tonight.

First off, Good morning! :::Oh...my head...::: (I swear I only had that second margarita in the hopes I would sleep to 7:00 am local time. Fat lot of good that did...)dlbpharmd wrote:Here's my report:

Uh...you're not talking about the one who currently holds both Men's NCAA National Basketball and Football Championships, with the Basketaball one being held two years in a row, are you?
GO GATORS!!!
:::besides, you just had to wear that UT golf shirt when we first met, huh?:::

I like that, Don. That description works well for me.dlbpharmd wrote:We mostly sat around, talking and drinking. Tomatillas, Don. And yes, it was awesome. Even JoJo liked it.

Ah man...dlbpharmd wrote:I kept getting updates from Fist about his terrible travel day, finally later in the night received word that he won't be arriving until 1pm today.
There goes any real Pantheon plotting and strategizing IRL...

All I did was follow directions from Lady Tam...
And, I think that was the only time I willingly posed for a picture. Any others that may wind up showing me from this weekend is with protest.

Heh, I wonder if I'll have to explain my t-shirt again...

I understand Seareach was called as well. Somehow I missed talking to both Cail and Seareach. Next time, y'all!
OK...dlbpharmd wrote:Late in the night, Wayfriend arrived, just in time for Menolly's key lime pie. I'm here to tell you, that was some of the best if not THE best key lime pie ever. HOLY COW. I ate a second piece, just to make sure it was good.
My nature says I should again
So, instead of blushing I'll say :beam:. Thanks Don. I noticed you ate two slices, meringue and all. Paul wants me to approach some of the coffee shops in Gator Town and see if I could commercially bake some for them. Now that Beorn's out of school for the summer, we'll see once I get home.
I hope to catch up with everyone there, but (if danlo wakes up on time, he, Aliantha and I didn't crash until 2:00 am local time) I hope to go to services first this morning. They won't get out until noon. If I miss y'all , I'm sure I'll hook up with y'all at whatever is decided to be done this afternoon before dinner.dlbpharmd wrote:Romeo and I left Iquestor at Danlo's and came back to the hotel around 11pm local time (1am for us.) Y'all, I am having a blast! Again, thanks to everyone who made this happen for me...

Ok Don said most of it, wont reiterate much --
Danlo and Tam were gracious and wonderful hosts, many many thanks to them for making this happen.
The food was AWESOME: Real Beer brats, simmered (NOT boiled) in beer then lovingly hand turned on the grill to prevent piercing of their delicate skin, then nestled into a hollowed-out toasted roll. accompanied by homemade pickles and onions!!! Three kinds of chicken fillets; didn't have a burger, but they looked wonderful. Baked beans, watermelon, Key Lime Pie was just to die for!!! I was in heaven!!
Had some really wonderful discussions -- it was great to finally be able to talk to someone about covenant without the usual bovine stare that accompanies it when I try that with my friends. Most of them can't read anyway.
Talked to a few people on the phone: Cail, Seareach, Balon, Drew -- Wish you guys were here
It was awsome to finally meet you guys -- to put faces and personalities to a screen name. Its hard for me to call Romeo John and Dlbpharm Don and LuciMay Cyndi , etc, etc - but we are all trying to keep them straight.
There are cetainly a diverse lot here; bankers, webmasters, MDs, software people, engineers, but we all have the common thread of loving these books and the urge to read and write and discuss. its really great!
well, time for me to get ready for breakfast. Will post later! wish everyone else was here!

I'm going to have to PM you the instructions, Bob. You got it backwards AGAIN.
The brats are simmered in beer and butter after they're lovingly hand turned to perfection on the grill. If you simmer them first to par-boil them, IMO they're ruined.
:::but I'm glad you enjoyed them:::

I only took a couple pictures - I was running around with the video camera. Always having it turned off at just the wrong time, but that's Murphy's Law for you. It'll take some time to get it into the computer and edited, so I can't do it in the hotel room (since I'm spending most of the time out of it). I'll get on it as soon as I get back (along with the interview video!).
GREAT time! Kudos and unlimited thanks to Danlo and Tam for the greaty party - and to MenOLLY (<grin>) and her wonderful pies!

I've added a few more pics to the album. We just got back to the hotel from a restaurant called The Flying Star where we ate breakfast (and dessert) and then sat around talking for about 3 hours. Gonna rest up a while, head over to Danlo's and then later to the Cooperage for the dinner.
BTW - Iquestor and I have discussed this whole accents thing, and we don't believe it's appropriate to make fun of Wayfriend like that, so let's just let it go, m'kay?
And another thing - Iquestor and I just made a sighting.
