"Our Song"...Do you have one?

Post by Menolly »

:::I looked through all the past thread titles, if I missed it please link me:::

To go along with the "How did you meet?" thread over in Gen Dis...

Do you and your partner/significant other/spouse have a special song? What is it? Why is it special to y'all? Do you remember when it became the song?

It was Frampton's "Baby I Love Your Way".

Now it's Englebert Humperdink's "Release Me".

'Poison', by Alice Cooper.

I'm not entirely sure how it became our song. We're both slightly averse to conventional 'love' songs and prefer ones that have a bit of a dark twist. On top of that, lyrically it reminds us both of Gormenghast, a series of books we bonded over early in our relationship.

"Big Bottoms" by Spinal Tap

Seriously, no, I don't have a song with the current girlfriend yet. I just now realized that. Sucks. Okay, I'll get on it. I'll let you know.

My ex and I had "Hallelujah" ...the Jeff Buckley version.

It used to be "Fly me to the Moon" and now it's Pinks "U and ur hand" Go on. Look at the lyrics. I know you don't know the song, so you won't get the joke. Just look.

Oh gosh...

:oops: :oops: :oops:

Now Paul tells me we had the title wrong all these years. Our song is still by Led Zepplin. But it's not The Rain Song from Houses of the Holy, but Thank You from Led Zepplin II.

:::sigh:::

:::nodding:::

You're right. I don't know the song and the joke must be flying right over my head. But, from the lyrics, it's an interesting choice, Wadds.

Okay, I asked her what our song should be, and she said it should be something from Air Supply.

We just broke up.
