I actually never belonged to any forums or spent much time online until Lucimay and Jwaneeta dragged me kicking and screaming and protesting onto the watch....within hours I was addicted. 8O  :P
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

They are known as Strange Loops. The same sort of thing America is stuck in.

Yes, Jwaneeta contacted us at FBH to be an expert so of course we said, "OH HELLS YES!" and during the weekend that Jwaneeta came to visit for filming I met Lucimay. They talked up the watch something fierce. Told me all these lies about all the fabulous people on here etc etc.... :P Of course I joined a few days later and I don't think I have spent much time off the watch since!

I remember a Hungarian as well. Didn't he mostly hang out on Bannor's web site?

He doesn't; it's nothing more than one of Avatar's patented misdirection ploys. He's trying to get you stoned!

I've started that book at least a couple times, and, despite absolutely loving it, I've yet to finish. It's just so damned big! My favorite Strange Loop is the one with Self-swallowing and Run-of-the-mill sets.

Ah! My thanks, CJ. Avatar is nefarious.

There a book of these things? Appropriate for Beorn? He loves the one I posted.

Now I'm confused. I've seen a poster claiming to be Lore's brother over in the Zombie game thread. But that's the only area of the Watch I've seen him in.

That's because that's the only place that Montressor (LoreMaster's brother) has posted. :D See, actually it's Cj who's trying some misdirection on.

Raen:  I did say it was too obvious to be included. But I don't think it should be discounted either. While the generalisation may be sweeping MM, it's still generally true, although never specifically accurate.

See, to get back to my earlier point, the fact that we are here because of the Chrons (well, 99% of us) means we've been automatically self-selected by virtue of whatever characteristics / qualities make us enjoy them enough to seek out more information about them. And they are a series of books that certainly do not enjoy mainstream appeal, given the tales of failed conversions that abound.

Practically everybody who turns up here is thrilled and amazed to find people to discuss and share the enjoyment of these books with.

So we are predisposed in certain ways. And I think that given the material, they are more specific certain ways than predispose people to join...whatever...cooking forums...motorcar forums...whatever.

They are characteristics that are perhaps more fundamental than whatever takes people to other forums.

As for the race question, to return to MM, I certainly don't mean there is anything wrong with his writing. And it definitely wasn't meant as a loaded question. I'm completely clueless as to the reason. Hell, maybe it's just not been translated. (Or been done badly...Briny anybody? )

I know that the small fantasy "market" in this country has historically been pretty exclusively white. Maybe as things improve and the education gap closes, that'll change. As for other countries, I have no idea...hell, there are plenty of lurkers...who knows what their demographics are?

Yea, Av, Raen and I had talked about how this would only be a random sampling of Watchers. And even that isn't quite right. Not all Watchers post. Not all Watchers participate in Gen Dis. Etc.
