Granola bars and a banana. If it wasn't for the 500 cups of sugar in the granola bar, I'd feel pretty good about that.

12 oz of Folgers, a packet of Splenda, and 1/4 cup or so of whole milk.
12 oz. can of V-8
Cup and a half of Lucky Charms (hangs head) and 1/3 cup or so whole milk

Tomorrow's breakfast will be eggs and bacon and french toast and fresh berry meddley with strawberries/raspberries/blueberries/blackberries.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Today's breakfast, eaten by Lucimay and myself was fresh mango and papaya, bacon and "toad in the hole." Toad in the hole is really simple. Cut a hole in a piece of bread with a small mouth, thin walled glass. Melt butter in the pan and butter one side of the bread and also the piece that came out of the bread. Throw the bread in a frying pan, crack an egg into the center of the bread and cook the egg over medium, flipping the egg with the toast. It's so simple and yet it's one of my favorite breakfasts.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

I grew up on that Jenn, although we always called it "egg in the nest."

And it is totally yummers...

For whatever reason, I woke up hungry this morning...

I started off with my regular, a 12 oz. cup of Folgers with a packet of Splenda and a 1/4 cup or so of whole milk. Had my 11.5 oz. can of V-8. Thought that would do me fine, but after 10 minutes I got up and got one of those Entemann's chocolate coated devil's food doughnuts Hyperception brought home. That held me for about half an hour. Then I eventually followed that with a bowl of Lucky Charms and milk.

Hoo-boy, who even wants lunch?

That's not toad-in-the-hole.

(I don't eat it because I hate pork sausages.)

I knew I had heard the name toad in the hole for something else when I first read Jenn's post about it. I think you mentioned it here in the Galley before Av, like last year or some such.

So far, breakfast has consisted of 6 of the 12 oz. cup of coffee I drink daily.

Morning, Menolly!

I got up early (7:00 AM, anyway, is early for my standards). Going to get a bowl of Quaker Granola cereal soon. I usually get a couple cups of it and garnish it with banana slices, raisins, blueberries, and honey.

Also going to get a slice or two of toast with some preserves spread on 'em.

That sounds really good, LF. How about adding just a smidge of protein to it? Like an egg, or a slice of cheese or some peant butter on your toast?

I just took out my can of V-8. I am trying really hard to resist snagging one of those Entenmann's chocolate covered deviled food doughnuts that are calling my name.

Ah, resistance is futile!

Thanks much for the protein advice, Menolly. My weight's been going up steadily; I'm currently at 152, and my physician wants me somewhere between 160 and 190.

I'm definitely putting my perfectionist tendencies into fixing anorexia. In fact, sometimes I overeat. It is hard: we all want to go the moderate path, but my diet calls for extremes; an extreme in eating to balance the extreme weight loss, I guess. It goes against my values, but I suppose I'll put up with it for a while.

As many of us have told you in the Gen Dis thread, there is a difference between healthy and unhealthy weight gain. IIRC, you started down this path because of unhealthy choices that led to what you saw as excessive weight gain, right? Keep in mind, you really don't want to allow old bad habits to take the place of the new bad habits you are consciously working on. What you see now as extremes is most likely because of where your mindset is currently at. Follow your nutritionist's guidelines, exercise as little as your physician has told you to do, and come to us for support.

Thanks so much, Menolly. I went and got an extra slice of toast with peanut butter on it. Didn't feel like I was overeating, though I thought I was before I ate it. The mind is indeed a tricky beast! I'll look at a bowl or plate of food and it'll look like a veritable sea of food, whereas to my old self it might not have been a satisfactory portion.

And for the record: my weight gain was a bit excessive, as I was 302 pounds in 2002. I should've stopped at 200 and began to lift weights or something. In any case, what's done is done, and there's plenty of time now to correct past mistakes.

Ugh...

While I love Hyperception's days off from work, I have him well trained to bring me a cup of coffee while I'm still in bed (as the laptop is right here on my night stand) when he makes himself some while getting ready for work. But today, since he's off, he's still asleep. I guess I better go drag my sorry tush to the kitchen and put on some coffee.

I'll reverse my typical drinking order, and work on my V-8 while the coffee is brewing...

My drink of choice these days has been Gatorade A.M., which is a line of breakfast-oriented Gatorades. Pretty good flavors, such as orange-strawberry and tropical-mango.

Well considering where I live and where Hyperception goes to school, I shouldn't put down Gatorade. But, there really are better choices, IMO...
