A old friend of mine that has toured and recorded with the several artists on Fat Possum records, (R.L. Burnside, Paul Wine Jones, T Model Ford, etc, check out the Fat Possum website) called me up the other day and is interested in forming a blues band and playing some gigs. I am psyched, I have had that part of myself put up on a shelf for far too long.

It's pouring with rain here and is about 11 degrees so we're stuck inside the house (always a bit of a challenge with SoS going MAD and eating everything in the house--he's already eaten a huge bowl of cereal, 2 pieces of toast, one banana, one apple and now he's eating seaweed biscuits...and it's not even gone 11am here!).
Tomorrow me and SoS are off to see Seasis and the new bub Morgan. There's going to be no power here for the day, so we thought we'd go to the big smoke and annoy them for the day. I haven't seen Seasis for months, and it will be great to have a cuddle of the bub (even though SoS thinks Morgan is going to play with him!

Thanks Seareach and Wyldewode. I just have the feeling I won't. These feelings aren't 100%, but more often than not.
Today, my back hurts like a sunnuvabitch. I must have been doing gymnastics in my sleep. Then again, I did have a very active weekend, so maybe I'm now feeling the pain. Hate that. I'm a little down too because the girlfriend was also down last night, and I tried to have a "state-of-the-union" chat and she didn't want any part of it. Which yet again confirms that I always fall into the traditional "girl" role in relationships. But yeah...our year anniversary is on Sunday, and her brother will be in town, and I asked if she even wanted to celebrate it because she hasn't shown any interest yet.

I feel...amused...Mormons came to my door just now. I saw them coming and had it all worked out, what I was going to say and everything. They get to the door, and the young trainee one was just so cute! He had these puppy dog eyes, he looked like he was about twelve (though I'm sure he wasn't), and you could tell it just hadn't been going well for him....so I just nodded and smiled at everything they said, told them I'd call them if I wanted to talk about it more (like that'll happen). Once the door was closed and they got to the sidewalk, I couldn't take it anymore. I had to stifle my laughter in a pillow because it was just so cute and not what I expected, not to mention rediculous...
