I didn't even know it went to a second season! I made a point of watching it the 1st season. I think for me it's a funny-once, though.

Just got given a movie called El Topo. Anybody know it? (Oh, I haven't watched it yet, but plot spoilers are fine, I know the basics.)

So, watched this over the weekend. Crazy stuff. Alejandro Jodorowsky's 2nd movie, and perhaps the first (certainly the first big one) of the "Midnight Movies" of the 70's, this is a "shock-western" with bizarre religious elements.

70's Midnight Movies? Why do I get the feeling that recreational substances were involved (either in the making of the movies or the viewing of them)?

Bought Wolfgang Petersen's Troy and Steven Spielberg's Munich. Both films feature Eric Bana. No cosmic meaning in that, but I find that I do like him as an actor. Troy aired last week on CBC and I happened to catch it, and I really liked what I saw. Brad Pitt may be the headline star, but Bana is the emotional center of Troy. Munich I already knew and loved - if that's the right word for such a gut-wrenching movie. In the opinion of this Spielberg fan, Munich is one of his very best films ever.

Watched RENT last night. Oh. Man. That was amazing. I love musicals, and that thing jumped SUPER high on my favorites.

Got the first season of Shadow Warriors with Sonny Chiba. He plays the Iga Ninja Httori Hanzo which inspired the Quintin Tarantino character Hattori Hanzo master swordsman, who Chiba also played, in Kill Bill.

Futurama, Vol. 4 just came in the mail today. Going to watch some of it tomorrow night. I only saw the first season of Futurama when it was syndicated, so all of these episodes will be new to me!

I just finished watching the French movie, Amélie. Very good, but it depressed me at the same time.
