Generally, I hate Pepsi products, but this is true:

I'm really disappointed that C2 is no more. We did a blind taste test, and it was nearly impossible to tell the difference. With half the calories, that's damn good. Hell, if they had a C3 that was 1/4 the calories but tasted just a little bit like diet, I'd be happy with that, too.

I think too many people have an "all or nothing" mentality. Most people will either go all out and drink the regular, or they'll opt for the diet drink because they refuse to consume any calories. A drink with half the calories is a good idea, but it isn't surprising that it didn't make it.Malik23 wrote:I'm really disappointed that C2 is no more. I never understood the wholee Pepsi/Coke thing.
Yeah; given the choice I'll drink Coke...but I wouldn't scoff at a Pepsi.
(although I try to avoid al Soda Pop...there NOTHING good in it for you; and for the record Diet pop, I beleive, is worse for you than sugary pop...I drink Club Soda now...all the fizziness of pop...none of that sugarry good taste.)
I was tending bar for aweding a few weeks ago...one guy asked for a rum and Pepsi..I told him (as I was pouring it) that we only had coke...he got upset, and ordered a beer instead!!! Like, what the hell; they're not THAT different..especially mixed with rum.

Drew, I'm with you 100% on that. Although I mostly drink seltzer instead of Club Soda as most Club Sodas I've found are full of sodium, which I don't need with my blood pressure. A slice of lime with my seltzer, and I'm a happy camper.drew wrote:(although I try to avoid al Soda Pop...there NOTHING good in it for you; and for the record Diet pop, I beleive, is worse for you than sugary pop...I drink Club Soda now...all the fizziness of pop...none of that sugarry good taste.)

Like I think I said earlier, I rarely drink any sort of soda any more (once a month, if that), but when I do, it's something diet.

I used to drink Pepsi Max all the time. Then I ended up for a couple of years having regular coke or regular pepsi, and now when I have Pepsi Max I really can't understand why I used to like it.
Diet Coke I've always thought tasted funny. The container seems to affect what extent--I can drink a can of Diet Coke, but the plastic bottles I try to stay away from. And if there's a plastic bottle of Diet Coke that's been chilled? Keep it the hell away from me, that stuff is foul. I'm not sure when the last time I had a Diet Pepsi was; I can't remember what it was like.
Nowadays, I prefer regular Coca Cola over all the others (and of course we get the cane sugar sort here).

Nothing tastes better than a cold Coke in a glass bottle. I rarely see these any more, but when I do I always smile.
Shame they took the sugar out so it still doesn't taste right.

There's no such thing as "too sweet" when discussing soda, tea or lemonade.Malik23 wrote:Drew, some people can be pretty militant about their brand loyalty. That's a bit silly. But they do taste a lot different. I can't stand Pepsi. It's way too sweet.

Cail, I see Cokes in glass bottles quite often down here, and they're popular - I think it's 6 or maybe 8 ounce bottles.

Does anybody see anything wrong with the fact that Coke (an american based company) makes a superior product in Mexico; only because the Mexican manufacturering plant probebly can't afford to import the chemicals into it that Coke now uses in the States?
So is you want the better product; you have to import the Mexican version of an American product.

That's because the South is more enlightened than the North when it comes to food and drink.dlbpharmd wrote:Cail, I see Cokes in glass bottles quite often down here, and they're popular - I think it's 6 or maybe 8 ounce bottles.
I miss the old 12 or 16oz fluted glass bottles that used to vend out of the machines with the little doors on them. The glass was really thick, and had white writing on it. The machine always had a metal bottle opener on the front. Even in the summer, the Coke would stay cold because of the thick glass.
