Those of us who got there early helped Heatherly plaster the walls of the bar with all of the story boards and the guest expert illustrations/diagrams. It looked like a gallery showing by the time we were done! :)

There was much chatting, comaraderie, picture taking, and item signing (more like yearbook wishes than autographs, for the most part). :)

And lots of loud music, which made socializing a little difficult for some. :(

At the end, people started laying claim to their favorite works from the walls. (I'm pretty sure nobody scarfed any of the "real" artwork the bar had for sale...) ;)

Over all, I think a good time was had by all.

Got there around 7:45. The girls were still setting up - hanging charts on the walls, setting up props, etc. I scored the puppy notebook (woohoo!) and started my rounds for autographs from the cast, crew, and experts. Lord Foul was there with the girls and Miss Terry. The place filled up fast - Jim (Julie's father - who played Berek's King), Seth and Karen (Mormon and Osandria/Ranynin), Steve/Gamecat (Covenant), Supreme Expert Taghd O'Higgins, and half a dozen other experts. Plus friends, spouses, etc.

Jenn put the Bloodguard wig on me pretty early, and after totally embarassing my wife I passed it on to the next victim. The halfhand also made it around. Taghd was granted the expert jacket, Arthur (BeerAndAir) got the one-eyed chicken (the warped bird from just before Flaming Woodhelven), and I think Steve (Covenant) had the Staff of Law signed by the cast. The charts were up for grabs, and several were taken and passed around for autographing. Danlo and Tam nabbed one of the pics of Berek. The snacks were good - I had a bunch of the sandwiches and half a tub of brownie bites.

We dominated the place for a long time, and I think we kept it busy enough to keep others out. And those who decided to dare the bar were probably a bit freaked out by some of the charts along the walls - various nude figures, a wayhnim "standing erect," etc. After midnight the FBH croud really started to thin out, and the "norms" took over the bar. One guy was trying to buy the one-eyed chicken off of Arthur, but it just wasn't going to happen.

By the time the final group of us left, I was almost entirely hoarse. We ran around the bar pulling down the charts so they'd be preserved - Chris (Bloodguard Bob) and I took a big pile each (in case anyone wanted them later, or for future donation to the Kent State collection <grin>).

TONS of pictures - I took over a hundred, Jim had to take about a thousand - and with everyone else with cameras, it seemed like there were continuous flashes the whole night. Singing, dancing, people wearing the cloud-print wrap that Julie wore for the episodes, etc. etc. etc.
And then the ravens pecked out his eyes.

Ok, so the barbecue was great. Bloodguard Bob was a cooking maniac and left me free to socialize. Lucimay came over early to help prep and she was an ARTIST with the fruit and veggie platters. Damelon, Lady Tam and Danlo showed up next. Because of all the plotting, meeting Lady Tam felt like a reunion. She immediately regaled me with the story of Danlo's reaction to his surprise. I'm so happy we were able to pull it off without a snag. Food fun and joy quickly ensued and remained the modus operandi for the entire evening. I will say this for the record. Jack Daniels is NOT my friend. That will be the first and only time he and I are aquainted. Watchers in attendance were Danlo, Lady Tam, Damelon, Lucimay, Creator, Romeo, Charles Timewaster, Irrational Sanity, Bloodguard Bob and myself. Cast and crew included Julie, Heatherly, Terry, David, Bloodguard Bob and myself. :P Romeo's charming son and his beautiful wife were here too. Julie's fiance Mike and our mutual friend Caitlin attended. Charles Timewaster's lovely wife Ann was here too as well as their poodle Henna. Moose of course was here too, barking at everyone and being a general pest. A good time was had by all. I woke up the next day feeling very resentful towards Jack and made my vow never to hang out with him again. Then I met up with Romeo and his son and Steve and Jenn and we went and had brunch with Julie and Heatherly. The food was good but the service SUCKED. I think it took almost forty minutes for them to bring out our food. GRRR. Then afterwards I took Romeo and Jonathan back to their hotel. Steve and Jenn set out walking since Jenn used to live here. After dropping Romeo and Jonathan off I headed to costco and we got some food for the soiree at Blur. Then I came home and tried to take a nap and get rid of the final vestiges of my fight with Jack. Then I got up, showered, tarted up and Julie picked me up and we headed to the bar. Heatherly and Terry were already there decorating with Irrational Insanity. Steve and Jenn showed up shortly after and the festivities began. It was a whirlwind of hugs and congratulations and fun and laughter and tears of joy. Experts who attended were Tadgh O'Higgins, Len, Larry, Douglas, Cam (Expert and played Quaan), Canaan (expert and Griffin), myself, Steven R Donaldson (also Higgins O'Higgins) Charles and Ann and I hope I didn't forget anyone. And now I have a house full of watchers so I will post more later.

And either right after that post, or while it was written, I received my Tiny Dancer call! It was obvious Luci wasn't in attendance... ;)

It was so good to talk to those I've met before again (danlo, Lady Tam, Damelon, that laugh is unmistakable), to Jenn who has chatted with me on the phone for months now, and to get to 'know' BGB and IS.

I am so glad the 'surprise' came off!!! Now I only wish I could have been there myself!

Excellent pictures, Romeo! I am looking forward to more!

Yesterday, Lady Tam, Danlo and I went to Chinatown to do some souvenir hunting and to get some lunch. We picked up what we needed and had a wonderful lunch there.

Afterwards, we wandered to the north out of Chinatown and started to walk towards the bay. Along this street there was a X-rated store with a unique sign on the marquee, a X-rated show house and a convenience store. Danlo needed to get a pack of cigarettes so he walked across the street. He walked into the shop and a fellow said to him "Hello there Cowboy!". He had walked into the X-rated store! Danlo made a hasty retreat to much laughter from Lady Tam and I!

Follow up to that story - earlier today, after Damelon and I were finished talking, he said "I'm going to hand the phone to Danlo, and when he says hello, I want you to say "How ya doing, cowboy?" So I played along, and I could literally hear Danlo blush on the phone. ;)

I just posted some more pics in the group fest album. I also think that at the next gathering that Danlo is at we should set it up so that everytime Danlo walks into a room, Kid Rock's "Cowboy" should start playing.

Sorry about the confusion over Bob/Chris. When he joined the cast, Julie thought it would be fun to have a Bloodguard Bob. Plus I think that Bloodguard Bob has a better ring to it than Bloodguard Chris. :P

Ye gods, what a busy day at work today. Anyway, I just want to thank all of ye's who called me yesterday. I had forgotten about it all, as I became somewhat self-absorbed this weekend that I spent alone. The girlfriend was visiting her parents, and I became immersed in videogame land. Then I got a call that I thought I shouldn't answer, but did as I thought it might be the girlfriend. And there was nobody at the other end. Figured it was some damn person trying to sell something. Then the phone rang again soon after, so I picked it up, and a sexy lady's voice asking for Cagliostro. Immediately I figured it out, and had a good time chatting with the various and sundry folks. Having spent all that time to myself, and not talking to anything but the television (and, let's be honest, singing on Karaoke Revolution on the PS2), my social skills were lacking and the wit just wasn't coming. But I thank you all for speaking to me despite my ineptness to form coherent thoughts and words. Living in a cave for a few days will do that to you.

So yay! My imaginary friends have voices now. But despite pictures and other facts to the contrary, I still don't have exact proof any of you exist until I wrap my arms around you good people. Take of that what you may. I wish I had been there drinking and making merry (and pippin) with you all. Cheers!

Nobody called me. I am sad.

Nah, it's okay. We were pretty busy yesterday anyhow. Glad everyone had a good time.

O.K. Here's an pair of pictures from the party that I took of Jenn and Steve, TC from FBH. It's kind of PG-13 but a hilarious sequence:
