Hang in there brother! Tomorrow at this time I shall be feeling jittery and quick to anger right alongside of you. Then we can exchange heated mean angry bitter pm's with alot of  in them!

Home...
Home again
I like to be here when I can...

Man, doing two 10 hour drives back to back in two days is no fun...

Glad to be home with a working phone line (for now).

I feel pretty good. It's 12:28 AM and I've been playing Oracle of Ages--a superlative Zelda game. I'm also on a bit of a buzz, having had a couple glasses of some Rockstar energy drink. The drink is fitting, as I am a bit of a rock star (I record sporadically).

Ah, summer, I'm going to miss you (I have to go back to college the 22nd).

I didn't do it. :D

Anyway, I feel ok. Forearms still sore from climbing. Thursday is a public holiday, so I'm taking Friday off for a long weekend. :D

Cail, you're obviously completely insane. ;)

I feel pretty good. My books came early, which is nice. The hours at work suck, but I love everyone there (not management) only, I keep not being able to talk to some of my special online friends, which pisses me off. *sigh*

Rain, rain, and more rain last night. Every two hours a storm passed over. But I sleep well through storms and feel great today. :)

I had a life-changing experience yesterday, and I'm still committed to it today. I watched the highlights of the Ironman Triathlon in Kona, HI yesterday, and I had an epiphany.

I must finish that race. Swim 2.4 miles in open water, bike 112 miles, run 26.2 miles, and do it all in less than 17 hours. I can do it. I haven't run in years, but I'm a strong swimmer, and I'm currently biking 30-40 miles a day.

When I get back from vacation I'm going to start seriously training; join a pool, start running again, and totally revamp my diet.

WooT! I know you can do it, you have that bull headed streak needed for that kind of training!

Me on the other hand am just recovering from my trip to NYC. We walked over 100 blocks on Saturday and my hammys hurt so bad yesterday that I could hardly get out of bed. On the other had we had an awesome time! The show was great and I can now die happy.

Good luck Cagliostro!

I'm on 7 months and 4 days with no cigs now! Regarding the habit bit - try and think of other things to do when you'd normally have a cig, to distract you.

Eg When I'm walking now, I always have my mp3 player with me. Last thing at night instead of my 'chill-out and relax' cig I have a chill-out-and-relax cup of ginger and lemon tea. After-meals cigs are still a problem - I'm still on the nicotine gum for those, and for general stressed-out-at-work moments. I thought alcohol evenings would be the hardest, but turns out they're the easiest - more nonsense to get up to, and people about to distract, I suppose.
(For 'special' cigarettes, see 'legalise it' thread in the 'Tank, for details of honeyrose mix.)

Hope this helps.....believe me, if I can do this, you can too!

Good luck. From my experience it's the swim that really takes the most out of you in training and it's really hard to replicate race conditions-open water and people swimming right next you. Also, be careful not to over train, especially on the running aspects, cos it's so easy to pick up niggly injuries. I did a lot of circuit training and interval training to keep it interesting. I also used the eliptical. Anyway, like I said, good luck.

On a different note-here's my locker and bed! How neat am I!?

It'd take you a long time to blow up or shoot all the sheep in this country, but one diseased banana...could kill 'em all.

I didn't even know sheep ate bananas.

The more people I talk to, the more I hear that about the swim.

And good luck and mucho willpower with that smoking thing!
Thanks all for the encouragement. And thanks for the tips, Stonemaybe. I did quit for a year a couple years ago, and was an idiot to start again, but great personal tragedy will do that.

And yes, I've joined the other bandwagon as well with a little Clara Bow.

Hehe! You know, Cag. . . every time I see a post from you it makes me smile! I think it must be something about that penguin. . . and the fact that you're hilarious too. Fun times!

Anyhow, good luck on the inhalation-free plan, and your avatar is priceless.

Also good luck to Cail on his Ironman dreams! Can't wait to hear about your fist race!

As for me. . . tomorrow I am going to a "hiring event" for a full-time temporary job. It could last anywhere from three months plus (could be a year?), and the pay is 170% of what I make now. My best friend works at the hospital in the computer dept, and got the "cheat sheet" that will be used for hiring for the job (that is where I saw the pay--and almost peed my pants when I did!). Anyhow, I'd be learning a new computer system for a hospital and teaching it to "end users"--staff in the clinics and etc.

So in the morning I am going to finish tweaking my resume to highlight my teaching experience (have 2/3 of a Master's in Education, so I think I'm well qualified!), and then it's off to the event. There is talk that they may hire on the spot, so I'm hoping for the best! Wish me luck! ;)

FINIALLY HOME.

Although I appreciate the extra hours, I gotta say emptying the popcorn warmer thing sucks. SUCKS, I SAY!

On the plus side my knife came in, I made some nice plots for Empires with my buddy at work, I saw Hairspray and have something to read.

So overall, I'm tired but good. :D
