Finally!! A full body shot of Binky. He is gorgeous.

The geography around your home looks fascinating as well, Edge.

...and, are you in a medieval mood today?

Right here we have the uMngeni River, Howick Falls, Midmar Dam and Karkloof Gorge (with more waterfalls). An hour to the north is the Drakensberg (mountain range) and just over an hour to the south is the beach.

...And yes, I am feeling middle-aged.

 We have another Master of Pun-Fu!

Some flowers, plus my first real good close-up of a squirrel, after umpteen tries. Elusive little critters!

Wow, MM. I really like the first one.

May I steal it to set as my wallpaper for awhile?

The squirrels around here have no black on them at all. They are all just grey and white.

To my mind, except for the tail, that looks more like a chipmunk (AAALLLLL-VIIINNN!!!!) to me...

Oooh, I *love* that first one!

And I must get myself a squirrel (wish we had them over here...or raccoons)! It's so cute!

Menolly, I think you're right: it's a chipmunk after all. I Googled and found out that chipmunks are in fact members of the squirrel family, which accounts for my confusion. But only chipmunks seem to have the distinctive black stripes on their fur. At least, all the chipmunk pics I saw showed them with stripes. Meanwhile, all the squirrel shots that I saw featured no stripes, just the plain-coloured fur as you said.

Anyway, now that I know the difference, I think chipmunks are cuter than squirrels. :)

Fantastic, Sea!!!

I'm so pleased to have a monitor now that can render photos like yours with some justice. They look awesome as my desktop background. 8)
