The Polygamy Thread

Post by Worm of Despite »

One of my favorite pastimes is polygamy. Polygamy, as many of you know, is the art of folding paper to represent various shapes. Here's a few of my creations:

More polygamy on the way.

Yes...an activity that demands skill and discipline for it to succeed. One wrong move and it can become an ugly mess...and you have to start all over.

I need to go to sleep. Things are flying right over my head at this point. Don't you mean origami? Polygamy...well...MM's statement is very true in regards to polygamy.

Is the problem that the Dinosaur wants to marry two chickens or that the Chicken wants to marry two dinosaurs?

I think altering the definition of marriage to include dinosaurs and chickens (much less 2 of one and 1 of the other) presents a dangerous precedent which will adversely effect the traditional American family.

But they're not asking to be included in the traditional American family. I say, let dinosaurs marry chickens, and let traditional American men marry traditional American women.

Don't you understand the threat these "unions" pose to families?

Won't someone think of the children?

But the question is WHICH children? I try to value chicks and smallish-baby dinosaurs on the same level as average American children.

Just because their a minority, doesn't mean they value any less. (although I THINK one of them may be extinct, it's the principle that really matters. :D)

Hey, I value chicks too....Hey there baby...

Can we really expect our children to maintain strong moral values when any dinosaur can marry multiple chickens (or vice-versa) and the government endorses it? The message is that "anything goes". This will lead our children to believe that anything is acceptable. Next thing you know, they'll be running around thinking that they can marry multiple chickens.

It's a slippery slope, I tell you.

I just don't see that.

Let each chicken family raise their dinosaurs as they see fit, man.

I don't tell YOUR kids to marry Dinosuars, don't you tell MY kids to marry American.

This is exactly why it's not safe to walk the streets at night.

Why do you hate America so much?

I don't hate America, so much a loathe the decision it makes.

I only want to see all people, be they chickens or people or dinosaurs, together in peace.

Why can't you give understanding a chance?

Understanding?

Where do you draw the line? Can cats and goldfish be able to marry? How about cheese graters and lima beans?

I understand that the freewheeling, "anything goes" mentality you're promoting will ultimately end up with bundt cakes marrying fiddler crabs (probably several of them), and I don't want my daughter raised in a world like that.

That is the same mentality that says that rock 'n roll is the devil's work because Elvis was shaking his hips.

Change is not evil, it just is.

Your kids will feel as natural about marrying my adopted coat hanger step-child, as you are about rock music. Although I bet your father still says it's devil music, and you'll still say their marriage is immoral.
