That's not quite what SRD's mental imagery had made me picture an Elohim as, though.

It's clearly, most definately, not anyone we can think of.

Damn you, SRD! Damn you, for making us have to buy your book to know how your story progresses!

You play the game well, and you give as good as you get.

I salute you, sir! Salut!

Greetings from the uk :D - just had a quick look at amazon.co.uk and there is a new cover for the uk hard back edition - I have to say I like this much better than the saruman/wizard/forestal (whatever) cover  . There is also a synopsis that seems to reveal a little more of the story than perhaps it should ;) ?

Not surprised by Amazon. They did the same thing with Runes - revealed more than was appropriate.

Bastards.

(No, I didn't look. Come October, I'll also be keeping my distance from KW til I've gotten FR and read it all myself.)

I won't avoid the Watch, but I've actually already started avoiding the FR forum. :D

Don't blame Amazon, every site will be doing the same thing; they're just publishing what was sent to them by the publisher. They want to entice people to buy the book. WE need no enticing ;-)

When you get your copy of FR, I suggest we all avoid reading the book jacket for the same reason!! If you need any encouragement, go back and read the one for TIW. How much does it ruin the story to know before you start that Elena is TC's daughter??!!?

I've stated elsewhere that I have the same problem w/ movie trailers, especially for series when you already know what's going on (Matrix, X-Men, etc). They basically tell you everything except the actual ending. Thanks a lot!!

If these books are not even the same size .... I'll buy them anyway. But I'll buy them feeling abused, I tell you!
So I realize this is slightly off-topic, but holy crap, now that's going to bother ME too.

That is, of course, the million dollar question. Does it depict someone from the book, or is it generic?

There are no (known) Forestals remaining. I suppose one could come into being though (or there could be more time-travel, in which case it could be anyone). But if it does relate to the book, it probably comes down to two characters: (remember, no spoilers please!!)

1. Anele. After he regains himself. And grows more hair.

2. Foul.
There's something about that pic that makes me think it's a Lord. Maybe it's the burnt staff tip - Kevin or an Unfettered? I'm just not picturing a Forestal carrying around a staff like that.
It was the fetid halitus of the most diseased mortality condensed to its essence and elevated to the transcendence of prophecy, promise, suzerain truth—the definitive commandment of darkness.

I've become a little edgy about reading it, myself.
