The whole point was that it was supposed to be ludicrous that the guy got superpowers. It was also a popular show which, in commercial terms, means it wasn't such a silly idea after all. I loved it as a kid. Absolutely loved it.
And it had that theme song...
Look at what’s happened to me,
I can’t believe it myself.
Suddenly I’m up on top of the world,
It should’ve been somebody else.
Believe it or not, I’m walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it’s just me.
It’s like a light of a new day,
It came from out of the blue.
Breaking me out of the spell I was in,
Making all of my wishes come true.
Believe it or not, I’m walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be? Believe it or not it’s just me.

But everyday after school I had to hurry home to watch the original Dark Shadows...

...and the t.v. was a black and white one, too...
G-ds...I loved that show...
And you had to actually get up and walk over to the TV to change the channel, yeah yeah yeah......please stop sometime before we hear about how you had to walk to school in the snow, uphill both ways, with no shoes on........
Loved Greatest American Hero as well. In fact, I've considered buying it on DVD a time or two as well. Maybe I should just rent it. But I think the single to the theme was the first single I ever bought with my own money.

Time is a waste of life
So get wasted all of the time
And you'll have the time of your life
Yeah, I liked Greatest American Hero too. I also watched--shoot me for admitting it--Bosom Buddies.
I was only 10 years old when Quark was on the air, so I'm sure a lot of the humor went over my head, but I thought it was the coolest show at the time.
And why isn't Small Wonder on the list?! It's hard to believe that show survived for four seasons. Good god.

I really enjoyed Greatest American Hero, and I thought Robert Culp was bad-ass in it.
