It's not Batman's fault; it's his writer's fault. But yeah, depending on the writer, he tends to be more of a vigilante than a hero. He often works within the system, like when he works with JLA, and in those situations he's one of my favorite heroes. He's also so tight with Superman in the JLA stuff, too, which I definitely prefer to his attitude in All-Star Batman, where he openly hates Superman. I just really have a problem when he's a loner on the verge of being brought in by the more altruistic heroes....the Miller run definitely sets up a future where it's neccessary, but since then several other writers have tried to cash in on Batman's vigilante image, and it just turns me off, like the Punisher almost always does.Lord Mhoram wrote:I think the implication here is that Batman is not a force for good like Spiderman and Superman. Am I right in assuming you think so? I don't think this can be farther from the truth.
Speaking of Dark Knight, didn't Batman orchestrate a nuclear strike on Superman to soften him up before the Kryptonite attack? The dude's nuts, I tell you!
