I don't agree. Patton was supremely vain, egocentric, abusive to his men, and reckless with their lives. He cared more for taking ground and winning a name for himself than he did about his men's safety (which is not to say he didn't care about that, just to be clear). On the plus side, he helped to accomplish a "good" end. That qualifies him as an anti-hero for me.Cail wrote:Hmmmmm. Patton pretty much was a hero.
couldnt agree more, one of my very very fave films; hilariously funny on many levels, very clever stuff ...Lebowski is one of those rare comedies that gets funnier with subsequent viewings. (Others include - Strangelove, Spinal Tap, Adaptation) It is especially funny in the context of the Coen's other work. It is their "joke" thriller. It is extremely funny to watch it as if it were a thriller, to see how hilariously it upends the genre.
