I have a soft spot for the Sugababes. Shoot me on sight.

Hmmm, I really don't feel embarrassed by anything I listen to, now or then, especially the 80's. If people don't like my taste in music they can get out of my car or leave my apartment. :)

But here's some groups I've been told to my face that I should be embarrassed to like: (I have very opinionated friends!)

Madonna (mainly her 80's work)
Hall & Oates (saw them in '84, they were great)
Thompson Twins (my favorite band from the 80's)
Jamiroquai (never figure that one out)
Anything from Duran Duran
Non-Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham Fleetwood Mac (there was life before they joined in)
And some others I can't remember right now.

I love my music! :D

I just don't invite them.

In fact, I can really only enjoy music by myself. I'd be too self-conscious with other people around to totally lose myself in the music. I'd be focusing on the people, not the music.

Absolutely humiliating.
 It never fails to surprise me how many people of different tastes like Roxette. For the record, I like them too - or rather, I like the handful of songs I know, mainly singles.

I'd agree with that, these days. I like what I like, and I don't much care what others think of it (though that doesn't stop people...er...'offering their opinions'). I won't disparage anyone else's taste in music either, on the condition that they genuinely like it. Anyone who's posing or following a trend is fair game for a scornful tirade.

Crazy Horses is on a different album, but yeah, also an amazing song.

An Osmond song that was banned in so many countries...

*sadly shaking head*

I think Are You Up There? is my favorite from The Plan though...
It could all end tomorrow,
and where would I be?
Does life go on
or will it be the end of me?
Seems a bit unfair
to think that all I've learned and done
belongs to no one.

Why should I cherish living
if there's no so called plan?
Why, I would have no future
if it were left to man.
I can't believe that we just happened
and don't know what for.
There must be more.

Why should I trust in a love
that I can't have forever?
Does it seem right
to live a game of take-away?
Should I want for children
if there isn't any more for them to live for?

Maybe I'm a pessimist - then
maybe I'm not.
One thing that I'd like to know
is what I've got.
I don't want a miracle
or to see you in the air,
but are you up there?
Are you everywhere?
Do you really care?
Are you up there?
A reunion special? No, I didn't even know there was one. Was it on cable? I don't have cable...

I was flipping channels and happened upon the Osmonds Reunion special as well. I immediately thought that you must have been watching it, Menolly...forgot that you don't have cable.

But I had the impression that their reunion was a few years ago. I figured it must be on DVD by now.

Count me in on the Roxette as well. . . and the NIN as well. I listen to Rob/White Zombie. . . but only when it's on the radio.

Great. . . now I've got a mix of It Must Have Been Love/Closer/Living Dead Girl in my head. . .

I still love NIN, and I listen to a lot of the thrash music that I listened to in high school. Well, when Mini-me isn't here, she seems to like Santana.

Molly Hatchet - Flirting with Disaster - I'm so dreadfully embarrassed.

Yep I liked and still like a lot of A Flock of Seagulls. *lowers head in shame*

She's a really big on Santana, John Prine, Train, the Goo-Goo Dolls, and anything from the Matrix soundtracks. She likes some of the BBKing I listen to, but usually just the songs that she knows I've sung to her when she was a baby.

I'm not a big Santana fan, but he is, to my layman's ears, a damn good guitarist. I like a bit of Train too, mainly Mississippi (though also Respect, which strangely reminds me of Dogstar...)

Train isn't so bad. Not heard any of their newer stuff. Santana is good but I was a little disappointed when I saw him last year. I had seen Earth, Wind and Fire the night before and the atmosphere was nowhere near as good.

As for embarassing music...well would hair bands such as Def Leppard count?
