I feel better now that I've eaten, had a chance to rest, talked to the Girl, and taken a few lurker steps into the Tank for long-term now. I've read the recent threads, and have a good base knowledge now to really follow a few of them. :)

I had a great time at Foamy's graduation. 8)

I got home Tuesday, but I am still so tired from all the activity. Not only did we attend graduation, but we moved our kids out of their respective college housing in two different cities. That involved packing and moving heavy boxes and suitcases, and driving back and forth between their two colleges twice (3-4 hour drive one way, approximately). Plus, insufficient sleep and beds that weren't always so comfortable.

I need to wake up and get back to working!

Mock us all you will, but I promise the sharks spend more time eating each other than they do the paddlers.

*sigh* Sorry to break the mood but I need to get this out.

On a more serious and less pleasant note, the eldest son of one of the domestic staff, who's been staying here because he was unwell, passed away today. Here.

The staff called me when they couldn't wake him this afternoon, and when I couldn't find a pulse or heartbeat, or detect any respiration, I called the government ambulance service.

Two hours later, they arrived. (Although in this case, if they'd been 5 minutes it wouldn't have mattered at all, otherwise I would have called a private ambulance.)

He was certified, and two and a half hours after that, (20 mins ago), the undertakers arrived to remove the body.

AIDS-related tubercolosis is my best guess. Probably the number one killer in this particular province of sunny SA.

Poor guy was 35. I don't even know his name. Life's a bitch.

*shakes head* Thanks. Sorry.

|G for Av.

I'm home, and happy about it! I've got a job interview on Wednesday, for a Petsmart that's opening up (soon I hope, or I may keep looking...) and I got Ali's car into 2nd gear on Saturday!!!
I live in my own little world...but its okay, they know me here!

On a slight incline (thanks for the tip, Jenn!). She woulda had it into 3rd but we ran out of street....

I'm pretty fried. Six hours on the road on the 18th, 15 hours this past Thursday, and 12 hours yesterday -- and back at work today. Usually I take a day off after one of these marathon drives, but I've run out of vacation days thanks to the Denver Seafest. Luckily the day hasn't been too taxing.

Sorry, Av... you're having a rough month... :( |G

I personally am on Day 1 of The Workweek from Hell, which so far resembles the sort of sitcom that gets cancelled after about three episodes.

I am having an owie moment. 16th St in San Francisco is a very busy street and an especially tough one to back out of from my shop. I usually make a point of going out and stopping traffic so the customers and my technicians can safely back out. Unfortunately people don't like to stop. I was just out there moments ago and this jackass who just absolutely HAD to make it another forty feet to the RED light swerved around me and I turned to make sure he wasn't gonna sideswipe me and he spun up a rock and it hit me in the corner of my eye. Bastard. Keep in mind that he had PLENTY of time to stop. It's not like I just popped up and tried to stop him. He had at least 100 yards in a 30mph zone. People suck.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Ouch! What a creep - I hope he spends the rest of the day stuck at red lights.
