hi
19 years old, male, from Poland so please do not punish
me for spelling or grammar mistakes- it's much easier to read or speak
I' ve just read "Fatal Revenant"(which was quite troublesome -"The last Chronicles" will not be published in Poland :/ , so I had to read the original, English version) and I'm not sure, whether I like new ideas...
However, both frist and second "Chronicles" are in my opinion great, therefore i'm really glad that i found this website.

Hi, from a Newbie with some NOM art.
Hi, I'm Kevin164 and I am a graphic and conceptual artist out of Northern California. I've been reading the Thomas Covenant Series since I was thirteen, a long, long, long time ago in a far away galaxy. Here is a sample of some of my art. I've been considering making an entire index of the creatures of the Land. I figure might as well start with the one I love the most.

Hello!
I'm Pharinet, and I'm very excited to have found KW!
Why I'm Here:
I only recently discovered Donaldson's amazing series. I've been reading the Covenant Chronicles voraciously for about a month now. I finished The Runes of the Earth last night, and just started Fatal Revenant last night.
I've had so many thoughts about the books that I started blogging about it, but have been starved for a dialogue with someone else who feels as passionately as I do about the books. I finally found a place to sate my hunger! I can't wait to start reading all the posts and discussing the books with all of you!
A Little About Me:
I'm an educator in my late 20s who is trying to carve my own niche in this world. I love to read and wish I could do it all the time. It's only in the past four or five years that I've allowed myself to read texts other than the traditional western canon, and I'm now a huge supporter of the fantasy genre. I think there is substantial worth and meaning in so many of these books, and I wish I had not been such a literary snob in years past. Now, I have a lot of catching up to do!
To date, some of my favorite fantasy authors include Jacqueline Carey (Kushiel books), Storm Constantine (from whom I stole my online alias, Pharinet), and Juliet Marillier. I'm also a huge fan of Wilbur Smith's egyptian (Taita) books.

Be Welcome to the Watch, Pharinet. Be Well Come and True.
Hop on down to General Fantasy/Sci Fi Discussion or The Library to talk about your favorites other than SRD. We love to talk about all authors!
If you don't see a thread or sub-forum for an author you wish to discuss, don't hesitate to start a thread of your own.

Welcome to the Watch, Pharinet and Kevin164. I hope your stay here will be long and enjoyable.
Pharinet, I think you'll get along smashingly here. . . be sure to check out the Library forum. We often discuss books from the classical "Western canon" and I'd be interested in hearing your contributions.
Kevin164, thanks for sharing your art with us. I look forward to seeing more.

Welcome from a fellow newbie to all of the people who recently joined. My brief experience here has been a very good one so far. Any forum where the average person knows way more than you (as is the case with me) is one where you are guaranteed to learn a lot! Enjoy your time here as I know I will.
