I've yet to see a good rendering of Revelstone or Kevin's Watch. Would love to see how you visualize Coercri, or the arrival of the dromond. Melenkurion Skyweir. Amok's coming to Loresraat.

And story boards would be a first step in creating those scenes, would they not?![]()
It is available right now...there are some really expensive ones out there but Bryce and Poser ...Vue d'esprit and some others terragen..not sure if it does animation though..those are fairly low priced..but the downside is that to render just 20 seconds of clouds moving through the southern wastes background i made took my slower computer 18 straight days for just 20 seconds of moving clouds, but thats on my older G4 400. im going to see if i can get Nom to at least run with those backward legs i made. if i can make him run..then who knows.
I have an online friend involved in 3-D modeling, and he says rendering is the most frustrating aspect for him, as he can do nothing until the program finishes running once launched. I am unsure of which program does what, but I know he mentions something called maya frequently. Do you use that as well?

Here is my artist's rendering of the scene when Covenant had been wrestling with the ur-vile under Mt. Thunder. This depicts TC after both fall over the edge of the ledge and he's laying with the wind knocked out of him.

Yes...rendering is the most frustrating part..it takes so long.. rendering about 24 frames per second for decent video and each frame in high def or high quality can take up to 30 mins per frame, 1.2 hrs on my old machine, my machine at home is alot faster but does'nt show very much when it comes to 3d animation.I have an online friend involved in 3-D modeling, and he says rendering is the most frustrating aspect for him, as he can do nothing until the program finishes running once launched. Unfortunately I dont use Maya because it Runs about $1600 US so thats alot more than i can afford for 3d software..but it is a great program...alot of High end Game developers and 3d modelers use it. Im very new to the creating characters etc with 3d apps like poser and im familiar with Bryce and a couple others but still learning alot as i go. I pretty much just jumped in with no teaching so im having to figure out what everything means and how it works.

but to me it looks more like the scene in the Brathairelm sandhold right after Linden gains Consciousness.

Thanks Menolly

and thanks to you too Amanibhavam..Im looking at this software right now and it looks like what i was missing.. i have programs to create environments and characters but nothing for creating new items or 3d objects which are outside my other programs abilities that i know of. Thankyou again for this info... hopefully its just what i was looking for.

A scene in Runes made me want to get back into sketching. It's after a battle, Linden slumps to a crouch, holding the Staff but with her limp hand resting on the ground holding Jeremiah's race car. She is covered with blood and surrounded by strange creatures, living and dead on the ground, but she just gazes at the race car.

Very good work - much better than anything I would produce.
However, Mhoram seems rather indistinct - a little hard to make him out from that vantage point. Also, I guess it's hard to capture both critical points - Mhoram revealing the light in the krill AND gutting SF with it.
Just trying to be helpful!

All part of being an artist. You draw, you starve, and you re-draw.
Thanks Black Hawk. I am working on three different plates. One will be the background, which will consist of the hilltops and foliage surrounding the battleground. The third plate is the various spawn and creatures in battle: I'm not looking forward to that one. The last plate will be basically a better rendition of that sketch of Mhoram and Satanfist. When finished it should look pretty good when combined. Crosses fingers.

Covenant's open arms in the caamora fire, welcoming the damned souls of the Grieve for redemption and peace. WOW
Covenant's meeting with the Dead in Andelain, in WGW, where he is on his knees in front of them. WOW again
The scene where the First and Pitchwife see Revelstone for the first time and are moved to tears and unable to articulate what they feel.
Nom bowing to Covenant.
A hundred Ranyhyn rearing to Covenant.
Trell destroying the Close in fire and apocalypse.
Mhoram stabbing the Raver-Giant in the war on Revelstone, and his hands melting away.
Elena's horserite initiation, as told to TC.
Covenant walking on Glimmermere to retrieve the krill. I know it has been done, but could be better.
Troy's transformation
Marid. Wow..........
I could name a thousand things. If I had to choose only ONE, it has to be the first one on my list. And the spirits that are shown IN the fire have to be uplifted with joy and transcendance, floating away on the night breeze above the flames. Covenant's face streaked with tears, the Giants laughing and crying all at once. Emotional overload.......... Awesome. I can hardly wait to see what you decide to do.

Just to add another cool scene to add to the list (I'm not sure if it's been said), but the rending of the raver by Grimmand Honninscrave and Nom.
It's mainly been on my mind since they mention the scene so much in the Last Chronicles. An awesome scene nonetheless, though.
But awesome work with Lord Mhoram's Victory.-jay
