Here's the completed version, and you presumed correct.
great stuff man..did you draw the comic strip by hand and then edit them with photoshop? I dont know if you have the .jpg extension at the end of your pictures but that may be why its not letting you upload to the laborium. or are they in a format other than .jpg?

Vain can help you with this...he loaded my first works here for me.

when i tried to view your pages images i did a copy and paste and this is what it said.

The image “homepage.mac.com/kevin164/.Pictures/Chimera/Urvile.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

It was drawn by hand then scanned into CS3. There I added color and shading. I made some mistakes on TC's eye and I made some corrections while then adding the lettering and text bubbles. Once it was all done I created three distinct copies that ranged in shading and effects. I changed them using Overlay and Multiple layer adjustments till I had a desired effect for the end product.

I get the same error code. I'm using a Mac so I don't know if that might be the problem with uploading any art to Kevin's Watch.

Im on a mac too...G4 at work and one at home.

you should work for Marvel or Darkhorse Comics, ..i bet they would be interested in something like this. ..they made a set out of Kings Dark Tower...the Comic page you made reminds me of that.

It's funny I never pictured ROM as a humanoid. I always thought of him as much more beast in appearance. I made a quick sketch of what I'm thinking but I'd probably end up with something a bit different if I gave it more time.

I put a new picture of Nom charging the sandwall in the laborium..just a test for now.. there will be alot more detail added to the sandwall,as soon as i get more details ;) things are a bit out of perspective and im trying to finish Seareach first, if i get the Sunbirth sea done i will have something by the end of the week

Im going to get to work on Vain also... hopefully i will have a 3d cast soon :D

Atomic really? your version looks like it would do some damage for sure...if it could get out of the Coral Nom Built for it hehe :P just kidding.. seriously though..it looks like you have some skills at drawing... do some more if you have ideas or time...all perspectives wanted.

Blackhawk, I just checked out your hand sketch of Mhoram. You captured his wisdom, his compassion, and his intensity perfectly. I hope you will do this up in another format. Wow, you have a talent, dude. You interpreted SRD's description to a tee.

check this out..i have no idea what it is..but sounds like some game someone made up.... its their description of a sandgorgon and its power levels. i didnt know someone shot a missile at a sandgorgon but apparently going by this ..they bounce off LOL

:D :D

Some game someone made up? :) Geez, it's Dungeons & Dragons! The writer just set up the Sandgorgon as a monster in D&D and gave it statistics. Actually, I've done that numerous times myself for all creatures/characters/monsters from the Land (and beyond) dating back to when I first read them some 20+ years ago.

Fun stuff . . . the Land would make a fascinating Campaign Setting.

Rocksister..thanks.... I am definately going to be showing more of Mhoram in the future.. along time ago before i gave up my try at 3D art I made texures for a Robe i had intended for Mhoram. I made a test render you can see as my Avatar and posted in the laborium... im not sure if its how i exactly picture his robe but when i made it what came to mind was the robe of the Dream interpreter from Glimmermere. to reflect the sky and blend into reflecting the earth rock and grass at the bottom..

 ahhh...D&D expanded to all mythical creatures... I never played it ..well outside an old Intellivision game i had..but i have seen other monsters with stats like that..now i know what it is :D . it looked like schematics for a video game with hit points and power punches etc.

Very cool, Blackhawk. I don't remember the answer to this, although I just got through reading the Chrons again, but are the Lords' robes floor length, knee length, long or short sleeves, or does SRD not even say? I picture them the same way that you did, with long flowing sleeves and down to the ground, but I don't know if it even was detailed that closely. I'm not one of those people who catches every little detail and remembers it anyway, but it would be interesting to know for sure.........

from LFB:

Covenant looked past him at Lord Mhoram. The Lord was a lean man about Covenant's height. He wore a long robe the color of High
Lord's Furl, with a pitch-black sash, and held a long staff in his right hand.

Mhoram and Lithe stood together in
the sunlight. They were facing each other-she nut brown and he blue-robed-and arguing like earth
and sky.

From IEW:

he grabbed the front of Mhoram's sky-blue robe in his fists, hissed, "Send me back! There's still time!

other than that it says alot of blue robed figures and blue robes with black sashes. I think they were floor length from the first description of Mhorams robe.

Yes, you are totally on the mark. Black sashes? I'm glad you brought that up; I had not noticed that before. You pay much more attention than I do, or you retain it longer. I guess an artist has to be like that in order to faithfully render their work. I'm looking forward to your next great work.

I wish i could claim my memory was that good, :D I remember it but not word for word (I thought only the Highlord had black sashes) I have PDF versions of the first two chronicles a friend got for me on some college network e-library about 5 or so years back..never thought i would have a use for them-but it makes searching for catch phrases or descriptions alot easier while trying to be accurate on some of the scenes im going to do. alot of things i didnt rember, on my map around fouls creche i forgot what it looked like until i re listened to Covenant and Foamfollowers hike to the Creche from the Colosus..same with alot of the changes i made on the map, its hard to retain all those details-so having a quick reference point really helps.

Is it really true you haven't read FR yet? You did read Runes, but not FR? There are some scenes in there you might consider drawing/painting/etc. I can't name them here; spoilers.

Some great interpretations going around in here, the Sandgorgons remain my favourite of all the creatures we meet in TCTC, I love any example of form following function and the way Nom was described always screamed that to me.

My actual vision of what Nom looks like however, has been heavily influenced by the design of the old-style Warhound Scout Titan from Warhammer 40k. It's a strange comparison, but if you check out this picture you might see what I mean:

Image

The reverse-jointed legs, spiny carapace and weapons with a not un-battering ram-like aspect all caused me to think of the baby War Machine as soon as I read Nom's description. All I had to do was give it a HR Gieger aspect and focus on the details of the head (and obviously scale it down from its 25 metre height!) to get the Nom I see in my mind's eye.

A. Because proper tea is theft.
