Robert Asprin passed away yesterday (May 22nd).

I couldn't find any other news containing details of his death - just the note on his official web site. Sounds like it was unexpected, though.
And then the ravens pecked out his eyes.

Hey, he was the editor of the Thieves World anthologies. Awesome books. I've got two of them. Never read anything else by him, but for that concept alone he deserves recognition.

Sad news.

Yeah, I read the first 4 Thieves World books. Great concept!

Sad to hear. I read the first 7 of his Myth series; I was hooked. I must have stopped at the latest available way back when and never continued.
Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

I have fond memories of his books when I was younger, though I don't know if I'd enjoy them now.

Very light fluff, but lots of humour and puns :)
