Ain't it the truth.... Regardless, good to see you, Claire!

Batty and her girlfriend will be in town tomorrow (they're passing through on their way to an anime convention), so in honor of their visit I ordered some pastries from the Kolache Factory, which is a restaurant chain I ran across while we were in Denver. Kolaches are Czech cookies/tarts (I think Polish folks make 'em too). Somebody in Texas started a fast-food chain based around 'em, and theirs are suitably Texas-sized -- in other words, more like a Danish than a cookie. Anyhow, the kolaches just arrived. It's a good thing nobody here knows what they are, or they'd be *gone*....

Aliantha, I'm actually in the Czech Republic (and will be for the next 5 months).

We went to a wedding the other day - I've never seen/eaten so many kolaches in my life. 8O

Gotta love the homemade dumplings too! *droooool*

I didn't know the Czechs made them too. My Czech roommate at college held out on me! Mom told me they were Polish. She grew up in a Polish neighborhood in Chicago. They wouldn't be safe if I was around.

Hope this soon changes for you in a positive way. Keep in mind we males are not all we're cracked up to be!

Oh man, I am sooo freakin' jealous! Where are you? Prague?

I've never been much of a dumpling fan, but maybe my mom didn't make 'em right. She always made 'em to go with gravy. I hear the fruit dumplings are fantabulous....

Menolly:  I'll savor 'em for you...

Oh, and I hate Yo Gabba Gabba or what ever it's called! SoS loves it (it's new to Australian tv in the last couple of weeks) but all I can say is AAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I am battling a severe case of Bell's Palsy:

www.webmd.com/brain/tc/bells-palsy-topic-overview

on the right side of my face. Can't open the right side of my mouth, eye won't close all the way...

It would be worse if I hadn't been through it before 12 years ago. Face went dead while I was on the freeway, thought I was having a stroke, drove straight to the ER, the whole time waiting for the rest of my right side to die... 8O

Rob...feel well soon.

Today, I am at the pulling my hair out stage. I've been accessing the 'net via public computers and UF's computer lab since Saturday. Typical Mortimer luck, as my family says. Finally get DSL, and the laptop dies...

I don't see us being able to afford replacing it, or even having it looked at for possible repair anytime soon. B"H Hyperception still has his student account at UF, but I can't get here before 6:00 pm or so due to lack of parking.

...and I thought I had the DTs waiting for Pantheon results; being without the Watch most of the day is bad...

Yeah, me too...that's a rough one. Happened to a friend of mine, but we were pretty sure it was as a result of doing too many ugly drugs. We ribbed him unmercifully, but it didn't stop him from taking them. (He did stop a few years later though...was doing all right by last accounts.)

We'll get it fixed, or replaced, if we must, ASAP. But, we just signed Beorn up for Latin via The Florida Virtual School, and were hoping to get him his own newer system. Now it looks like both will have to wait.

*hangs head*

...until then, I guess any hopes of meeting the AllFather must be scratched...

Get better soon, Rob! My Dad had Bell's, and it took about six months to recover fully from it. . . hope yours goes away soon! :)
