I've said it to Sorus, I've said it to Lucimay, I've said it to Danlo and Damelon just to name a few. It was meant to be. Why else would the thought of asking Gary if he needed anyone pop into my head and then the next day to do it and him not having anything full time at the moment but wanting to interview her anyway turn in into him calling me the very next day after that and asking me to send in my friend immediately because a job just opened up. Congrats to Sorus for aceing the interview and impressing Gary. I feel really really good about this. Gary needs good people and Sorus needs a good boss and it all came together for a reason. PLUS now Sorus will be working a half a block from me! We can do LUNCH! How cool is THAT???? I call that a WIN WIN WIN situation. I am so happy about this. I know Sorus will love working for Gary, he's very down to earth and up front and just a totally NICE guy. I also know Gary will really appreciate Sorus for being the same way. I kept having moments of whooo hoo all during my laundry date with Lucimay just thinking about Sorus being in such a better place of work. GO SORUS! Who's got a NEW JOB! YAY HOODY! Shake your booty!

Excellent Sorus!..life is too precious to live in some one else's hell. May good fortune continue for you!

Congrats, Sorus!
Welcome back, Edge!
I'm having a great day. It's the first day of classes for the semester, and today I only had one and it's US History with a great prof that recognizes the great stories there are in history. One of my best friends brought me home-baked sugar cookies for breakfast. Everyone that I've made a request of in the last few days has come through. I will be able to rent a refrigerator for $35 for the whole year (which is excellent because my fridge that broke last week is not readily fixable). The weather is excellent (partly cloudy, light breeze but still warm). All of these good things, and it's not even lunchtime yet! I still have half the day left to enjoy!
I feel WONDERFUL!

Congratulations, Sorus! That is great news to hear.

Auleliel, after a start like that you may want to consider going to bed now before your day starts "balancing out".

Can't go to bed, I have meetings tonight. Besides, if I did I might get nightmares or fall out of bed (which would hurt because my bed is higher off the ground than I can reach with my arms streched upwards--and I am not short). And sleeping during the day (other than a brief nap) makes me feel terrible.
Besides, it isn't "balancing out" yet. Lunch was pasta (yummy!), and full of great conversations. My afternoon is free to use as I please. The only thing that can go wrong right now would be if I got a headache, and I have plenty of ibuprophen and Mountain Dew to deal with that scenario should it occur.
I am determined to continue to have a good day, and the right attitude is half the battle. Today is good. :D

Yay! All first days of school should be as good! :)

Not bad here for a Monday. Nothing too exciting, but it's been pleasant. The weather is *still* not stinkin' hot -- I can't tell you how weird that is for August in DC. 8O Ieceived the book I ordered for my book club meeting (the meeting was yesterday; I was supposed to have the book last Friday but whatever, almost nobody else had it yet either) and have been reading that.

Yesterday I spent quite awhile straightening up the girls' room, now that they're both back at college. :( Good thing I did -- I ran across a couple of things that Magickmaker meant to take with her. Just added 'em to the box of stuff to send her....
