My Fellow Watchers

I'm pleased to announce that, in your midsts, you will soon see another admin face showing it's gleaming orange self :)

After much deliberation and deferring to the hectic stage of my life at the moment, and therefore not being able to spend enough time and energy steering things in the right direction hereabouts, I am taking a break from admin duties but will still mod and be green :)

I will hope that you will all approve of the new admin...the inimitable Avatar :)...and not give him too much crap (although he's WAY better at responding to it than me :) )

I will personally like to thank Av for being eager and willing to take this on.

In addition, we were extremely close to adding two admins (but ended up opting for a one-to-one replacement) - the other long-time member that I think has the right qualities for KW is Syl, who also was keen to serve KW - I will like to thank Syl for being willing to do so as well.

I think this now means I could technically be banned ;)

Anyway, go post something :biggrin:

Congrats, Av. As I told Vain, if there's only one man for the job, it's Avatar. I, for one, welcome our new South African, anarcho-atheist, partaking overlord. ;)

Personally, I was honored being asked. But being an admin would've seriously cut into my self-aggrandizing pomposity time, so perhaps it's for the best. :mrgreen:

I can't remember him posting in any forums other than the the Tank, Close and General.

If I didn't have so much to say, I would be speechless. Unfortunately for you all, that has almost never happened, and isn't about to.

First, I'd like to thank the current active admins for this signal honour. I certainly never dreamt when I climbed the interminable stairs of Kevins Watch four long and eventful years ago that I would one day be offered such an honoured position of responsibility in the vibrant, erudite, tolerant, friendly and humorous community I discovered there.

Second, I'd like to thank Syl for his recommendation, and congratulate him on having dodged the bullet, ;) since he is at least equally as deserving. If he's not careful, it'll be his door they're knocking on next time. :D

Last but by no means least I'd like to thank everybody else for their congratulations and participation. The Watch is what it is because of you all. We may have our differences, but I think that the similarities, (even the ones we don't like to admit to), are more profound.

Keep up the good work everybody. And I'll do my best to do the same.
