Aint it Cool news posted some pictures of the main characters from the movie. link

NOTE I am intentionally posting these as links and not as images so that people can choose to be spoiled or not. dAN.

The Comedian.
Looks good. I have doubts about the actor tho.

Ozymandias.
Baaaaad casting. What's so hard in finding a buff, square-jawed blonde dude? The cod piece may be overcompensation for overall wimpitude.

Roreschach.
But how hard is it really.

Silk Spectre.
Nice. But who cares.

Nite Owl.
Good, leaning towards overbeefed. Looks too much like Batman to be good. And owls don't have square eyes on my planet.

I have heard he is going for the same approach he used for 300. (and was so great in Sin City) He is using the Comic book as a storyboard. The appearance of the new Night Owl and Ozymandius are, as far as I know, the only intentional divergences. Some of those pics on IMDB look absolutely perfect.

What do you mean about Night Owl and Ozymandius being divergences?

Night Owl has no paunch, doesn't look pathetic ... Ozymandias is young, not someone who is about to retire ...

I hope Dr Manhattan doesn't end up looking like the lead from Blue Man Group. IMO it'd be cool if he was transparent, as if he were an electron cloud in the shape of a man.

I have heard that he mostly wanted to make Nite Owl look a little more scary. Y'Know, more like someone you can honestly imagine being the scourge of the underworld. I heard he also wanted to make Ozymandias look a little more like his namesake, so hes upping the Egyptian thing in his costuming.

Okay, Batman and the Joker dominate everyone's consciousness right now.

But if you have any spare brain cells left, check out the watchmen news.

First, we have their cover on Entertainment Weekly. Don't look at it if you don't want to see Dr. Manhattan and several other Watchpeople. Look!

Second, we have the Watchmen Trailer. You're gonna see it when you see Batman. But if you can't resist: Look!

[Edit] I just watched it. It's an awesome trailer. It's mostly all visuals. If you don't want to be spoiled for what everything looks like -- and I mean "everything", you may want to not watch it. Then again, it looks SOOO GOOOOOD!!!!! This movie is getting a very good treatment, visually anyway.

I'll have to wait until I get home to watch the trailer. But the cover is great! Thanks!

Wow. I don't think LXG was all that bad, but yeah, they pretty much inored the comics, which was annoying as hell. There's no way they're going to ignore the Watchmen comics, though; it had a igger impanct than the LXG comics had, and it's been out for 20 years now, while the LXG books only came out a yar or so before the movie. And, let's face it, the LXG trailer can't touch the Watchmen one.

I'm afraid there's no denying

Well, I thought it was a pretty awesome trailer. It should leave any Watchmen fans happy.

Well, I'm reading the graphic novel now. I can't really tell how many pages I'm in now, but I think I am just beginning part 4. I'm pretty impressed so far, although it seems like a lot of this that might be pretty groundbreaking at the time has been a bit dulled since then. And we can thank the latest Batman flick for a bit of it.

I just read the comics again; it may have been groundbreaking, but even if it's not any more, the story's so damn good that it won't matter. And that's even more exciting is every scene in the trailer is in the comics....talk about being true to the source!
