It's early morning. It's too damn quiet here. I can't sleep without sirens screaming by and crackheads yelling. What the hell is up with all this quiet and birds chirping and crickets for god's sake, what's up with crap like that. What is this? Disney? I feel like going to the local shelter and hiring some junkies to come fight outside the window so I can sleep normally. Sheesh. :P Lady Tam is doing well which is wonderful. I have taken some incredible pics of bees on lavender and a butterfly on flowers and on the lavender, I even got the butterfly drinking from the blossoms with her probiscus. I'll post those after I get home because I can't GET INTERNET for my laptop here in the suburbs. There are NO wireless networks I can piggyback on. That is one of the reasons I haven't been on much.... HEY! STOP THAT! There will be NO collective sigh of relief!!!! I heard that dAN.... Anyway, this mini "vacation" has been good. It's been really helpful to Danlo to have me here and I have loved being able to help and yesterday I got to meet Grace for the first time. She was staying with her godparents for the first few days and she came home yesterday and we painted and I taught her about cameras and let her take my little camcorder and take footage and so she knows which buttons to push to turn it on and off. It was fun. We also took a bunch of pics with my still camera which she knows she is not allowed to play with. She is awesome. I even made up a game to get her to eat her veggies. It was simple. I threatened to eat them first. HAHAHAHHA! Lady Tam and Danlo have done a great job raising this kid. She is amazing. Anyway, that's it for now. Back to my "vacation." :P
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

I'm feeling my age. Threw my cousin his 21st party on Friday night, and I'm still feeling a bit shaky to be honest. Don't even talk to me about saturday...And my mohawk is a bright electric purple. :D

Getting too old to roll into bed at 11h30 the next morning and still function normally. *shakes head*

ayeup. I should have thought to tell you that. I had brought my laptop as well, and there was no connection. But...uhm...I was much worse regarding being able to stay away from the Watch than you seem to be.

To repeat what I said on the Hangar...

Pics!!!

Today I filled out an application for a passport. I'll turn it in tomorrow, and start praying a month will be enough time to process and return it to me...

Passport? Where are you going, Menolly? (A month should be plenty of time -- turnaround time when we got MagickMaker's renewed this summer was about three weeks.)

Good news about Tam, Jenn! Whoo hoo! And yeah, Grace is a sweetie. It'll be nice to see some newer pictures of her -- I still think of her the way she looked at last year's E-fest, and I know kids change quickly....

Av -- yeah, it sucks, getting old. OTOH, the alternative is kinda worse.... ;)

No place where I should need a passport, but the hostel I plan to stay at for Xarfest in NYC insists all guests have a passport to check-in, including US citizens.

Besides, there's talk that I may attend a Roman friend's wedding, if and when he and his fiance ever set a date, if I can come up with the fundage. Since a passport is good for what, seven years (?), I see no harm in getting it now. The only problem being it was an extra $100.00 expense added on to Xarfest. But, it is still cheaper staying at the hostel with the added expense of the passport, then at any hotel rate I've found in The City.

Good to know, thanks. I'm planning on paying the extra $15.00 for overnight delivery though, just in case.

If it's only 15 bucks for overnight mail, then yeah, money well spent.

Adult US passports are good for ten years. 8) You got the passport book, right? Not the card? Because the card's only good in the Western Hemisphere -- it *might* work for the hostel in NYC but it sure wouldn't get you to Italy... I figure you got the right one, but just thought I'd check. :)

*nodding*

Being the spendthrift I am though, and seeing the card is less than half the cost of the book, I called the hostel to see if they would accept the card as the trip to Italy is extremely unlikely. They hadn't even heard of the passport card, so the book it is.

Angry. I've been given a 'yellow card' (first warning) for missing a seminar which wasn't on my timetable. I spoke to the administrator about it when I found out, and she told me, basically, that when a timetable says 'final' it doesn't mean final, and she has the right to change it whenever she sees fit without warning or informing anyone it affects. So now I have to have a fight with the head of the department to try and get myself de-yellowed.

I've had enough of this shit. I really have.

That's asinine, Covenant. It really is. I hate the way universities think they can play games like this with students and take away your rights. Have you spoken to the Student's Union, if you have one?
