I think I was about a year old. I was sleeping in the same room with my parents. I raised my head and looked out the window and saw a rainbow.

I also remember something of the layout of that house, and corroborated it with my mom some years ago, so I know I'm not making this stuff up. We moved to a different house when I was about a year and a half old.

Have you kept any of your (childhood) toys? If so, what?

HA!..my sister upon cleaning out the house years ago when mom passed, found some stowed away relics of childhood and forwarded a few to me. A Santa Klaus I made in 2nd grade, an olde Dinky Toy car. So yea, I have some memorabilia.

When was the last time you have gone 24 hours plus with no sleep?
Back in Spring I went out in the middle of the desert with telescope and did a 24 hour stint. Needed coffee and some algae around 2am and sure was beat by the time I got home.

Coffee AND algae?? Don't they kind of cancel each other out??

Last time I went 24 hours was when I flew to Africa. I don't rest well on planes. New York to Abuja takes about 28 hours. I'm not into all-nighters, I get pretty zoned.

due to smoking for the last 30 plus years it hurts every time i laff. let that be a lesson...but a few weeks ago a girl at work,,who laffs at nothing got on a laffing jag that snowballed into a lot of us laffing at her laff,,which made her laff even more which..well,,when she had to go the ladies room,,we all returned to sensibility. It was hurtin.

Yes, algae, the kind i use,,is brain food..stimulates the brain,,and restores eye site to sharp focus . Not only does the caffine of coffee work also,,but the heat on a cool nite works..for me anyway.

When was the last time you talked to a policeman?

Don't remind me. In Nigeria, policemen are NOT your friends, especially if you're white. I'm sorry to say that, but it's true. My car was hit by a motorcyclist, but because he was hurt and I wasn't, he was Nigerian and I'm American (and therefore in their minds filthy rich and fair game for intimidation and extortion)... let's just say it was about the scariest experience of my life, maybe even more so because they acted like they were being friendly and helpful but the distinct message was that they were just looking for an excuse to put a white American in their jail unless we coughed up.

Thank God, the motorcyclist was okay. Some of the police actually took my side when they saw that WE had taken him to the hospital and paid for his treatment ourselves. Made them look kind of foolish. So it all came out okay.

And thank God the police aren't like that everywhere.

So, on a lighter note, what songs do you sing in the shower?

Whatever is playing in my boombox on the bathroom counter. Lately it's been reggae.

Let's stay in the the bathroom. Do you towel yourself from top-down or bottom-up?

Top down.

Do you use a hair dryer or do you just let your hair dry on its own in the air?

If I told you it wouldn't be a secret, now, would it?
Fine. I'll post it. Just promise not to read it, okay?
Spoiler
My secret ambition is to be secret. I am already achieving this by spreading information about myself all over the world. Soon I will be completely anonymous.
Honestly now, did you read the spoilered section?

No, I didn't read it. (But I can't promise I won't read it at a later time.)

When I was five I was cotton candy for Halloween. Best costume ever, and it was hand-made too. Doubled up as a school project on the letter C.

When you were (or for some of us, are) in school, did (do) you prefer exams, projects, or presentations as forms of assessment?

Projects, because they usually involved the least amount of work and I could usually do them the night before they were due.

Back to Halloween, what's your favorite candy to score during Halloween?

Chocolate bars. I was not particular about what kind. As we got older, we would travel to better-heeled neighborhoods for trick-or-treating, so that the ratio of chocolate-bars-to-Smarties was as high as possible.

Back to the bathroom. Your toilet paper roll -- over or under?

OVER. I cannot stand to have it go under. I'm so OCD that I'll change it in your house if I ever use your bathroom.

Still in the bathroom: do you leave your wet towels on the floor?

No way would I leave wet towels on the bathroom floor. Not now, not ever.

Bathroom cleaning: Lysol, CLR or Scrub Free? (I use Lysol, but I'm trying Scrub Free next time. Not that I mind scrubbing. And in my opinion, CLR sucks. Let me just say it's far less impressive than how it performs on TV.)

Of those mentioned, Lysol. I've been trying to use less of the prepared chemical cleansers and more green cleaning products. . . most of which I can make at home. :)

More bathroom questions. . . do you keep your toothbrush on the counter in a holder, or elsewhere?

There's a whole thread about that one, and I believe my answer there was also NO. And it is still true.

What do you crave right now?
