Wow I come back to a new contest and priestly roleplaying and all sorts of wonderful!
Um, I've said it before and I'll say it again, this bit from the contest thread....
On the subject of the priest thing...how do I go about creating a new KW character for it? (I know I've got 2 already, me and Brid, but that's cos I've got 2 email addresses)

Can this be optional? The first three winners will also receive a small Contentment boost

Stone, if you are comfortable using your gmail address, simply add +[username] before the @ sign. For instance, in the Dark Hope campaign, my character is Tänya. She uses cho's gmail account, so her email address to sign in is heartoftheflame+Tanya@gmail.com (thanks to the DM, Mephiston/Argothoth/Rothmog, for explaining this to me). Trust me, it works. You don't have to create a new account or anything. The email will go to the primary account before the + sign.
HTH.
...and...
Between the "future discussion thread," and just the announcement of a new contest, my day has not been going well. And now this???

It's automatic. But since you're using the same address, it might not need activation...have you tried logging in with the new account? If you have and it doesn't work, send me the username and I'll see if I can activate it manually.caamora wrote:Is it automatic or does one of the admins have to send it?

I will try it right now.
But, question: I get a message that an email with an activation link has been sent to me but I haven't recieved it.
Even though the primary email address is the same, in my experience the new Watch username account does require separate activation. The +[username] is enough of a difference when registering to cause it.Avatar wrote:It's automatic. hmm...
I've had this happen in the past when activating a Watch account, but I am more concerned you may not be receiving email to the account at all, even though it works for me. Did you try sending an email to yourself with the +[username] added caam?
The one time I had that happen, I realized I had entered the email address wrong by misspelling part of the address when I created the new Watch account. I think I had danlo fix that for me that time...

AllFather, you forgot to link to the story...Loremaster wrote:I'm honoured.Xar wrote:Incidentally, it was brought to my attention that if you need some example about the kind of contest entries for this turn's contest, you need look no further than Nor Yekith's pre-return story...
Nor Yekith's pre-return story...
...just in case others can't find it...

Thanks, Av!
I sent you a pm.
I sent you a pm.
I tried and you are right. It didn't go thru because it said that was not a valid email account.I've had this happen in the past when activating a Watch account, but I am more concerned you may not be receiving email to the account at all, even though it works for me. Do you think it was entered wrong then? As Stone said, it worked for him and after that one time, it always works for me.caamora wrote:Thanks, Av!

Ah...perhaps my description is misleading you. Don't use the brackets in the email address, I was using them to say "insert new username here"...

No, I understood. I think Yahoo just didn't like it. I set it up again with a different email address. It worked fine and Evelina Thankful is born.
Heh, but I'm still having problems signing in as Jove even though the new email works. I may have tried to register as Old Jove.

OK. I only know it works on gmail. I have no idea about other services.
