What happened to some of the characters like Meredith, Flint and the Haitian?

The Haitian stayed behind in his home town.
I had to look up the other two - Meredith is presumed dead after she exploded in Sylar's Primatech siege episode. Flint was inside Pinehearst when it blew up. Both of them can be expected to be written back in if it ever seems convenient, though. (Adding Meredith again would make sense, as they're pretty obviously going to bring back Sylar's father, Angela's sister, and so on. Including other older generation heroes would fit the theme.)

Yea, Meredith, I believe was deliberately left uncertain wether dead or not (and she did survive the fire when Claire was a baby, so it seems, not only can she make fire, she seems to be able to survive it. I actually like the character, and now that Claire has grown, I think it might be fun to watch their relationship develop. Truthfully, I was actually expecting her to show up this sesason for a dramatic "calvary" scene, saving Claire.

Ugh, looks like the final episode isn't being shown here tonight, they're showing it next week instead. Bah.

Well, more of the same, but I actually liked the way they've set up the next season. Kind of a clean slate from the season 3 mess with the new company forming, and though it's pretty obvious some of the things that'll happen (Nathan will have an identity crisis as his powers are discovered and he learns the truth), there's still the possibility they'll go somewhere interesting with it.

The problem with this series, they set up interesting things then disappoint with how they use them (by being too obvious, or just using them to move from point A to B within a single episode then drop it). I'll probably watch season 4, but my expectations are no higher than usual.

didn't catch what (if anything) happened to that super-lame bald guy Danko. Hopefully he's been written out of the show.

He was knocked unconscious and left. As were all the other agents. In building 26. You know, where they had all their security and tech. I have a feeling someone didn't think this through.

Is it worth trying to work out if this ending was planned all along? With these writers it often looks like they're just making it up as they go.
But as far as the Sylar thing goes, looking back at the first volume of S3 there is a lot that is relevant to what happened:

-Sylar being given the power to absorb memories
-Sylar being lied to and convinced the Petrellis are his family (significant in the current situation, no?)
-Sylar learning to take powers without killing/opening someone's head up (which allows him to fake his death with the shapeshifter)
-Sylar murdering Arthur Petrelli (important to the emotional conflict he should go through soon)

So I'm wondering if they're cleverer with the overall plot than I thought, and just really bad at implementing it in a way that looks consistant when you're watching the episodes.

S2 was acknowledged to be a disaster, and S3 was supposed to start things down the right path. The first volume, was run by the same writers as S2, and then the second volume got the writer back that made S1 great, so, hopefully the worst is over, and the groundwork laid in S3 will make for at least a very good S4

At the very least, I hope they stick to half-length story volumes. That was the issue acknowledged back in S2, that S1 had moved a little slow and S2 far too slow in the beginning.

Since Sylar is now Nathan, does that mean that Nathan will have all his powers like being able to heal, shoot lightning, move objects without touching them, etc

I have a few questions
1. when Peter was pretending to be the President, why didn't Sylar pick up on it with his Lie-Detection power?
2. Was Sylar controlling Clare with his Telekinesis or did he take Doyle's Puppet Power?

I think the story is it was just his telekinesis. Doyle is still alive.

I also think Sylar's lie detection only works on what people say, so he didn't have an opportunity to work it out before Peter got him.

Yea but Sylar can take powers without killing but we never see him take Doyle's power but it looks his power. Can telekinesis and Puppet Power be that similar?

Regarding Nathan having Sylar's powers. In the last set of scenes Nathan noticed the clock being a couple seconds slow (or fast?), and "knowing how things work" is Sylar's primary power that allows him to absorb powers. So, I would say, yes, absolutely, Nathan has Sylar's powers. However, as long as he believes he is Nathan, and doesn't know he is Sylar, I can see the writers making him unaware he has all his other powers. As he wakes up next season (if that's where they're going) to the fact that he is Sylar, he will probably begin realizing he has all these really cool powers. Did he take Flight from Nathan, from touch, before he sliced his throat? If not, that's kinda sloppy, IMHO

I was puzzling over where he learned flight myself, when he floated into the room after Nathan. Not sure about that one.

Must have learned it off Nathan, I am sure Sylar can learn powers without killing because he got that Lightning power of Bishop without killing her.
