CJr and Seareach think of biscuits as a type of cookie. Next e'fest, I'm gonna show them both what they've been missing.

Unless something comes up I am going to the next E'Fest. I shall bring a knife and fork.

I know it is sacrilege, dlb, but give me some crispy hash browns instead of the biscuits with the gravy, and I'll be right alongside y'all. That is, if I can swing the next major elohimfest in Albuquerque (hoping Cj and Sea make it for that one).

Say not "instead"...say rather "with"...crispy hash browns with the biscuits with the gravy....

I would, if that is what I meant.
...but it's not.

I will have the biscuits with the crispy hash browns and gravy though (high carb rush!!!), with fresh churned butter and some wildflower honey, thankyouverymuch, sir.

I haven't had 'biscuits' with sausage gravy, but I did sample some of Danlo's biscuits and some form of alleged gravy at the place opposite the bagel shop at Lakewood.

Even if I overlook the biscuit issue (a biscuit isn't a cookie either; cookies are sweet, while biscuits are frequently quite savoury), I don't understand eating something that's essentially a collapsed pie for breakfast. :P

Biscuits and gravy is a very occasional thing for me. Good, but to me a little heavy.

When I was a kid, mom would sometimes make S.O.S. I haven't had that in years but it was good.

Today, for me, breakfast is a slice of toast with peanut butter and a cup of coffee, but on weekends I'll have a couple of over easy or scrambled eggs with two or three slices of bacon or sausage.

Lorin, I've found Weetabix here in the US. Think Wheaties, compressed into lozenge-shaped biscuits (there's that word again!) about a half-inch thick and 1.5 inches x 2.5 inches long. Two of 'em makes a serving.

CovJr, proper buttermilk biscuits are *not* like pie crust. They are fluffy inside. What were they serving at that greasy spoon anyhow? (Menolly, I can get onboard with biscuits & honey, too.)

Damelon, your reference to SOS made me laugh. My mom used to serve it for dinner sometimes.
