I am right there with ya. In said attorney's defense, he did spend a considerable amount of time before he left deleting the junk from his inbox and sorting everything into the folders. So he actually did the heavy lifting.

lucimay wrote:you know...i just came from the tank, from reading some threads in the tank.

i swear to god, those guys are NEVER going to agree on ANYfriggin thing
in there.

and frankly, NO man is equal to his own friggin rhetoric.

do they realize they all make themselves sound insane in there???
my GOD you have to sort through so much CRAP they toss around
at each other that you can hardly see what the heck is goin on in
the discussions and the most BIZARRE thing is they're all so used
to fighting with each other that they're all starting to sound like
each other!! they're all making the VERY SAME arguments about
EVERYthing and i can't really sort out who thinks what anymore.

thats how the tank made me feel today.

i'm not gonna read anything in there for a while. :hithead:
 I took a Tank break for awhile myself, after the election and especially after the inauguration. Dunno what made me venture back in there. Maybe it's time to take another break...
It's funny. I try so hard not to fall into the same point by point molecular level breakdown that people tend to do in there, and it's difficult not to allow the invective to sway my opinions. I'm not going to name names, but the last few weeks in the Tank have done more to move me back to the center from the left on my social outlooks than any events of the last couple of years, and I can't decide if that's because the arguments are convincing, or if its because I don't like the tone of the arguments presented.

I feel good because Aliantha did something nice for me. Actually, so did Lucimay, but she says she's gonna have another go and do it better.

The Tank gives me a serious headache.

Anyway I'm weirding out on Facebook right now. Apparently I registered for an account and had no ideal I did. I got an email from duchess to be added as a friend and then half the freaking Watch and all my email contacts popped in out of nowhere. So I'm busy setting it up and adding friends. Dam next time I get real drunk I sure as hell hope I don't join WOW by mistake! :P

 Now there's a scary thought. Sit down for a couple of quiet beers, and wake up the next day with a splitting headache and a level 28 Shaman.

It'd take a lot more than alcohol to make me join WoW. :-x

 I always consider Loremaster's games. I'm careful about committing myself to forum games though. Unforeseen circumstances almost scuppered my participation in Montressor's WWII strategic jobbie, I had to bail on Nathan's D&D campaign just after it started, and Patheon is so hideously complex I dare not even confront it. So I don't like to commit to getting involved unless I understand the game (without spending six months reading the rule library, PANTHEON! ) and I'm fairly confident I'll be able to see it through without interruption.

In short: I was, and am, considering. :P

You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

It's the inevitable consequence of having sections of our stirring rhetoric challenged. The ideal is of course to leave no room for misunderstanding in your words, but I can count how often that happens on the fingers of one head. Instead, we have to reduce our ideas to first principles through a process that sometimes suffers derailment...

Anyway, any time y'all think the 'Tank is a hell-hole, I invite you to visit other political "discussion" forums and make a comparison. ;)

The idea of SRD ganking little nubs is... astounding, really. I'm going to ruminate in that for a while.
