I and the family are rather down this evening. My son's hamster (only about 8 months old) was found expired in her cage this afternoon.

She was ill (sneezy and listless) a few weeks ago, but the meds provided by the vet seemed to work and we thought she had pretty much recovered. We are thinking that the heat here may have been a factor.

This was the boy's first full-responsibility pet, and he's understandably pretty broken up about it.

Farewell, Squeakers, we'll miss you! :(

Poor Squeakers, may she rest in peace....

Quiet day here. Knitted and went grocery shopping and made soup and knitted some more.

I was reminded of the time when I had a pet hamster. It's always sad when they go.

Farewell, Squeakers.

Sorry to hear about Squakers. It's never fun losing an animal like that :(

Well, after my first day at work I feel pretty good considering...

Pretty chilled place, flexible time, can grow my mohawk back if I want, and should be able to check the forum during the day. :D I think it'll work out.

Av, I can't help but notice that you listed "check the forum during the day" in your list of criteria but not "get paid". You are a real KW trooper and inspiration! ;)
Glad to hear your first day went well!

hah!
If you knew Av when he was working before, the above order in that statement of his would come as no surprise.

I am glad it went well and it looks like it will be a good fit, Av. :D

Good news on the job, Av!

I am *freezing*. It is so bloody cold in this hallway where my desk is located. I come to work in short sleeves and sandals; part way through the day, I have to put on socks, real shoes, and a sweater. I should complain to the building engineers, but I don't think they can do much about it. Ah well, I'll just sit here and drink my tea and shiver. And in ten minutes I get to take off the sweater and put my sandals back on, in order to go home for the day.

I feel pretty content. My friend brought along a new overdrive pedal from Canada for me, a Fulltone Fulldrive 2, and I played it for the first time at a decent volume during rehearsal last night. It sounds excellent!

Pretty much the same as before...writing content for a company that builds websites and stuff. Everything you read on the internet gets written by some poor sucker. I'm one of those suckers.
