*apologies for the double post*
While we are waiting ... I thought a focus for our creative energies if any want to try. And then other dieties can likewise place their challenge and prize. :D

The prize. Madadeva will use 1 DRP for the winner's Desire

The contest: Write a story about an epic battle! The protagonist should be a Deity of P2 or P3. The antagonist can be either a P2 or P3 deity or some other foe fought in a different realm. The battle can involve the deities directly, their prophets, their followers, their allies, or any combination. It can use prior turn submissions and results expanded to create a compelling tale. No rules other than creativity and that the battle must have a conclusion (e.g., win, lose, draw.) Let's say all stories entered by 8/29 will be voted on. Winner is the deity with maximum votes. In the case of ties; repeat votes with only the highest vote getters until a winner is selected. Since I am giving the prize, if I post a story it is not eligible for votes. If there is only one post  they win automatically. If there are no posts, someone else can figure out what we can do while we wait for Turn results! ;)
<grumble>

...battle, battle, battle, battle, battle...
...I am so sick of battle...

But otherwise, it is a fantastic idea, 'deva.
I look forward to reading the stories.
And good luck to all who enter.

Oh... wow. I can just imagine an interpretive dance depicting a great battle, with stage fighting, and people standing to the back holding a giant red cloth between them and waving it up and down...

We'll call it: "The destruction of Borange." Hordes of very limber naked human females will swarm over Bel's new city of Borange and stand there shouting "Nothing rhymes with orange!" until the inhabitants just get tired of it and move to a new city. (It would be rude to use violence against the God of peace, after all.) Then, the houka show up and dismantle the buildings, and turn the place into a catnip farm.

Because nothing rhymes with orange.

...damn...
I miss Bhakti.
Both incarnations of him...

Nice story in 'deva's contest Fist.
I like the unexpected ending.

...now that you had that break, get back to processing Aesir...
...please.

Short, but sweet. I had the initial idea immediately, then had to plod through the process of actually writing it.

Astonishing that I had the basic idea, actually. I skip a lot of Xar's contests, because I just don't have any ideas.

Okay, that's it for me, folks. I don't expect to be online again until late Saturday night. Heck, almost everybody I talk to on the phone will be with me, so I won't necessarily have that turned on, either! 8O  So try not to destroy Eiran without me, eh? :D

Good news from Xar regarding the Turn and the Contest. So get your entries in! And send any ideas for other contests to me ... I will coordinate ideas unless someone else desires to take over! ;)
Xar wrote:Hi there!
Processing is still going on, I had to slow down for a couple of days since I had to correct the draft of my paper, but now I'm going quickly and I hope I'll be done in a few more days. In the meantime, I appreciate the effort for the contests ... I'm more than happy to provide prizes (i.e. more worshippers, or 1 extra DRP for one turn, depending on the kind of contest) ...

Does this change the submission deadline for stories? August 29th, still? (I got some stuff coming up in the near future I need to do before I can really get a story out, so want to know if I'm going to run out of time.)

Let's keep the 29th. However, if others would post with a small (1 week) extension; I think that is acceptable (unless those who post within the original time period complain.) Even if you miss this one, there will be others! :)

Oh man...
Is The AllFather saying that worshippers for participating is now officially offered again? That means I should submit something...

...grumble...

If he means more worshippers only for those who place, then I won't worry about it.

Fist is going to have my head when he sees that, as I said via text that correcting this article was a possibility of holding up processing when Xar returned from Rome, while Xar was still in Rome on holiday.

That would help me. Just a bit busy right now to do something, but would like to. (Thought the deadline was today actually...relieved to see it's not.)

 Is everyone ok with having the next 11 days for submission? Then we can take a week to vote. [We might have our Turn before you need to submit ... more material!! ;) ]

August 29th is acceptible. I have something cooking up in the back of my head, that will probably come forward around the 27-29th.
