Cag:

Lore: Meant to say yesterday -- sorry about the treatment you're getting from former inmates. You'd think they'd be nicer to someone who tried to help them, wouldn't you?

Danlo: Reading about things flying in your ears, all I could think of was "Wrath of Khan". Or -- more pleasantly, I suppose -- a Babel fish...

Rigel: Cute doggy! Hope he feels better soon...

As for me, well, all I've got to say is that after all the whingeing Magickmaker did the other day about her schedule and not having time to fit everything in and all that...she signed herself up for swim team yesterday. I give up.

I'm feeling energized, well...uh...kinda...more like accomplished. I was actually able to get out of bed, walk across the room and back again. Totally wiped me out tho so I took a two hour nap afterwards. Hope to be released from the hospital by the weekend. :D
And I believe in you
altho you never asked me too
I will remember you
and what life put you thru.

Just to let everyone know I'm not doing terrible things to my child, the Male Prostitute game is based off of the Dan Akroyd Saturday Night Live skit, Fred Garvin: Male Prostitute. I say that, and twist his body slightly where the colon is (not the body part, the punctuation). He always has a big grin on his face when we play this game. It is one I definitely need to get on video for his future girlfriends.

Healthy today, thank you. :) The firm is on a new wellness kick. They brought in a company today that did on-the-spot lab tests -- weight, BMI, bloodwork, etc. The bloodwork was really cool -- the nurse pricked my finger once, took a tiny pipette of blood, then fed that into a little machine that gave a readout of cholesterol and the other blood fats, glucose, etc., in about three minutes. Makes me wonder how come my doctor sends me to Labcorp to get big vials of blood drawn instead of having one of these cool little machines in her office -- but I digress. Bottom line is that except for being a fair amount overweight, I'm pretty darn healthy.

I am tired but happy. Today was my first day of "teaching" in my student teaching placement--I've been mostly observing and assisting up until now. I was supposed to only teach a lesson in reading, but I ended up doing a bit more because my cooperating teacher called in sick, and I knew the classroom routines better than the substitute they brought in. I taught about 2/3 of the day. It went well, but I'm exhausted.

That's great, Auleliel. What grade level class have you been assigned?

Today I'm feeling...impressed.

In the past, my pack rat husband, Hyperception, has pushed home discarded projection televisions he sees in the neighborhood, in the hopes of finding one that works. Up until now he has been disappointed, but he and Beorn have enjoyed dismantling them and finding uses for the various parts, such as the solar incinerator they built in the backyard, made of the fresnel lenses from four of them.

Yesterday, while delivering in a neighborhood of million plus dollar homes, he came upon the following in front of one of the homes, awaiting the monthly "hard junk pick-up." He looked at the home, and decided it was worth trying to get the following in to his mail truck and bring it home, since it was possible there was nothing wrong with it and it was merely replaced with an upgrade to a hi-def monitor, plasma or otherwise.

Image

Not a scratch on it. Piano lacquer black cabinet finish in pristine mint condition.
So today, since he was off work, he decided to plug it in and check it out.

:faint:

Not a thing wrong with it, everything functions perfectly.

Yes, we're a decade behind the times. But for free, I'm not complaining. It's better than our two decade old Magnavox 25" Beorn's been playing games on.

Hyperception looked up the specs for this thing, if we had bought it when new.

I feel excited/nervous. Tomorrow I am teaching an awesome science lesson involving observing snails, a gecko, and a turtle in their habitats, and I am sure the kids are going to love it. However, I will be observed by my supervisor while teaching the lesson, and I am a little nervous about that. :cross:
