Today I'm feeling...
impressed.
In the past, my pack rat husband, Hyperception, has pushed home discarded projection televisions he sees in the neighborhood, in the hopes of finding one that works. Up until now he has been disappointed, but he and Beorn have enjoyed dismantling them and finding uses for the various parts, such as the solar incinerator they built in the backyard, made of the fresnel lenses from four of them.
Yesterday, while delivering in a neighborhood of million plus dollar homes, he came upon the following in front of one of the homes, awaiting the monthly "hard junk pick-up." He looked at the home, and decided it was worth trying to get the following in to his mail truck and bring it home, since it was
possible there was nothing wrong with it and it was merely replaced with an upgrade to a hi-def monitor, plasma or otherwise.
Not a scratch on it. Piano lacquer black cabinet finish in pristine mint condition.
So today, since he was off work, he decided to plug it in and check it out.
Not a thing wrong with it, everything functions perfectly.
Yes, we're a decade behind the times. But for free, I'm not complaining. It's better than our two decade old Magnavox 25" Beorn's been playing games on.
Hyperception looked up the specs for this thing, if we had bought it when new.
