I feel like nobody wants to talk to me anymore.
All my friends seem to be like slowly departing and not so much saying "bye" as just disappearing and not returning calls/emails/such. I find it especially depressing.
I keep questioning what I have done.

You're a great guy, unless you went ballistic on them I wouldn't worry. I don't know if many of your friends are single, but it's, unfortunately, kind of a trend that single friends tend to drift away from married couples to a degree and to a greater degree drift away from married couples with a child.
fall far and well Pilots!
I went/ am going through the same thing. I used to have a lot of friends, all kinds, married, not married. But I started making changes in my life and many of my good friends drifted away. At first I asked myself the same thing, was it me, was it something I did, then I was mad at them, feeling abandoned but I have come to realize different friends have different places in our lives.Cagliostro wrote:I feel like nobody wants to talk to me anymore.

I believe we only have a certain amount of "closet space". In order to add friends to our lives, we have to make space, so friends will naturally drift in and out of our closet.
So, hang in there, life is fluid, nothing will remain the same. WE never know what is around the corner.

Well, the older you get, the easier it is to call somebody a whippersnapper with a straight face.
Don't worry, Cag, we still love you!

These seem to be profound insights about human nature.
On a related point: maybe I'm off base, but I have the impression that there are more married Watchers today than there were in KW's early days. That would be an interesting statistic (if true).

Even though you aren't asking for a solution, my advise is just to go to the store and buy it. Sheesh.CovenantJr wrote:I don't know what I want, and I don't know how to go about getting it once I've made up my mind. It's a disorientating feeling.
I don't need a solution though, I just want to whine a bit.

It's even better if you can get somebody to pay you to take it.lorin wrote:try and get it for free first.Cagliostro wrote:Even though you aren't asking for a solution, my advise is just to go to the store and buy it. Wouldnt it be cool if we began a group like habitat for Humanity? Members could get together for one week at a members home where he or she or they are in big need of home repair. We all have some kind of skills of one kind or another. For instance, I am the queen of planning and negotiating (whattya want? I'm Jewish) and my father is a bored architect. Some here must no painting and decorating, electrical, some know computers. Some of us have too much STUFF and might be willing to drive it over to the members home and donate it, I know I would. Another good thing is the wide variety of ages and skills of the members from what I've seen.
Please dont poo poo the idea. I think what is special at this site is the compassion of the members and it could really work

don't mind me......that was a post operative percocet moment. I get all lovey dovey and superwomanish when I stop feeling that pain.Menolly wrote:I love the idea, Lorin. But the challenge as I see it is members locations. There are a few areas where there seems to be a concentration of members, but I think the vast majority of us are separated by at least a couple hour drive from each other, if not more.

regardless, I think it's a great idea.
I just wish I could think of a way of implementing it.
carpooling aside.

What joke? You could carpool with...um...well...aside from SRD, do we have any other Watchers in ABQ?
Come to think of it, we *have* had a KW carpool. A couple of 'em, in fact. There was Damelon, Waddley, Magickmaker and me from Denver to ABQ a couple of years ago; and Thelma and Louise in '08.
