"V" Reboot

Everyone knows the real star of the original series was Marc Singer's hair. Without that feathered plumage, the new series doesn't stand a chance.

Hulu's going to post the episode on Saturday.

And, if nothing else, "V" and discussing it may have convinced me to give the new Battlestar Galactica a chance.

I was kind of let down by this episode. I mean, I wasn't expecting all that much, but I got really turned off when the alien ship arrived, and everyone panicked... then the hot alien said "we are of peace" and everyone clapped.
Clapped?!? Really... clapping at the alien just because she said she was friendly? I don't know...

If I hadn't mentioned it somewhere before I am not much of a classic "V" fan. Of the overall series at least. I find it assinine that aliens capable of interstellar travel are also capable of in fighting and back stabbing like Dallas or Dynasty. There are more issues than that to be sure.
I watched the first episode of the new V (at the request of my wife who actually liked the original). I found it fairly entertaining even though, like most remakes, I already know what's essentially going on and what is going to ultimately happen.
I'll keep watching for a while.

I thought it was entertaining enough, and it was only the Pilot, most pilots are not a true measure of a series. It's certainly leagues above the only other Space/Alien show on TV right now, which is Stargate Universe.

In that case, I have to wonder how bad Stargate Universe must be. Maybe I don't really want to know.
(Just kidding. I never followed Stargate, so I don't have much of an opinion on it. The original feature film was more than enough for me.)

Actually, the original held up better than I expected it to have. (Just watched it a few months ago.) The jaw-distending aliens were about the only place it really looked bad...otherwise I was pleasantly surprised.Cail wrote:I doubt the original V has aged well. Lord knows the original BSG didn't.
That said, I loved it as a kid, and I'm looking forward to watching it tonight.
A huge fan of the original. I'll check out the remake if it ever appears here, just to see the new effects, but as I said at the Hangar, I think I'll miss the original cast.

Only about ten more hours until the second episode! (Orlion, you've got a paper due in an hour!) Fah! on your red paper of virtue! (That doesn't make sense!) It's a reference to Stephen Crane's poetry (I know that, there just isn't any connection between your paper and the poem in question) You just don't understand art! (You just can't crap something out and call it art!)It's been done before! (Name an example) Have you ever seen Bladerunner? (Unfortunately, seems like that Scott character has only made one good movie) But this isn't the thread for this discussion (Nope, not at all) We should stop this pointless banter (You mean I should stop this pointless banter) Whatever.

Anyhows, back on topic, I personally felt the second episode was fairly entertaining. At the moment, I feel it is moving in the right direction (e.g. being a good show). I certainly will be drooling over Elizabeth Mitch- er, I mean, watch the next episode next week

Love T2
so far V reboot is ok for me...dont like some of the actors but the show seems like it might do ok..but i agree... it did have that old school feeling to it. like a 70s show done in HD with better special effects.
