I wish I could relate and comprehend to that situation, but Beorn's condition being what it is, he has never had any friends, and up until he entered high school, his schools were so small, the same kids were together year after year no matter what.

Even without his condition, my understanding is that little girls and boys are different. Especially at that age.
We do what we think is best as parents, and to hell with what others think.
