Oh, he's not ready for that yet! You think I began my career by slamming my cell in the car door?? No. You gotta work up to that. He ran outta gas. That's a good beginning. Probably had a flat tire somewhere between then and now. Also good. But you still have to be creative. Scrape the side of a toll booth maybe. Knock out a window while loading 2x4's. Then we can sit down and plan out a good cell-slam.
Lol. That guy cracks me up! Thinks you can just jump right into slammin' cells in car doors!

Another good day at work. Had a few stressful moments. Most of the management guys were out at the pre black friday sale meeting for most of the day. Managed to figure out some issues on my own and Sorus was again invaluable at helping me. I also managed to pass my "can she handle the boys club" initiation test. Towards the end of the day the boys were all in my station getting signage ready for Friday and they broke out some snacks so Billy offered me some cashews and cookies. I opted for cashews and shook a handful out and popped a few of them in my mouth and was putting the can down when Ryan came around the corner and said, "Hey Jenn, who said you could touch my nuts?" There was dead silence and I came right back with, "It's too late, Ryan, I already put your nuts in my mouth." A moment of silence followed then lots of laughing and Jacob said," I am definitely going to like working with you." I've also taken to calling Ceasar, sleeping beauty, since I mainly find him sleeping in the break room on all my breaks. We also now have a signal we keep giving one another. After Sorus left the break room from her lunch break, Ceasar said," I can see I'm going to have to keep my eyes on you.." and I replied, "Don't you mean eye?" since he explained to me my first day that he can only see out of one eye. So every time we saw each other all afternoon we would cock our heads and give each other a raised eyebrow "I'm watching you" look. Quite amusing. I can't wait until Lucimay joins us, it's such a fun crew already.

Fist, you are clearly a past master at destroying perfectly good electronic devices. I salute you.
Jenn -- yay for good days at work!
Menolly -- congrats to Beorn!
The anniversary party yesterday was lovely. Many people said nice things about me.
Two of the big-honcho partners even stopped by. I think they were really there to fetch one of the attorneys I work for, but hey, they stopped in and told me congrats -- and as the secretarial manager said to me later, "*that's* never happened before."
There was tons of leftover cake (which I left in the kitchen for the night crew) and a bunch of cookies and rugelah and fruit salad (which we took home), and two big bunches of flowers for me. I was definitely feelin' the love....
Anyway, the good fortune continues. I took today off to run errands. This morning, I had to get some blood work done. Usually the waiting room is jammed, so I brought my knitting -- but there was nobody there today. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. Woot! And tonight I got nearly all the way caught up on the NaNo novel. I'm just 9K away from 50K, and I should be able to knock out a chunk of that tomorrow while dinner's cooking.
I should go to bed now, I guess. Magickmaker came out about a half-hour ago and asked me what time I had to get up in order to get the turkey in the oven. Apparently she's afraid I'll oversleep tomorrow and she'll have to make herself PB&J for Thanksgiving dinner.

I think his feat will be the stuff of KW legend in days to come. November 2009: the month Fist's cell phone "interfaced" with his car door. (He didn't say exactly what day it happened. Tuesday?)aliantha wrote:Fist, you are clearly a past master at destroying perfectly good electronic devices. I salute you.

Congrats, Murrin!
Post-holiday laziness today. Had my traditional Black Friday breakfast of leftover stuffing and pumpkin pie. Successfully determined that all of the rest of my Yule shopping can be accomplished online. Wrote so much of the NaNo novel yesterday that I am within 2K words of winning. (That doesn't mean the story's finished, but it does take the pressure off me for the rest of the weekend -- woot!)
So yeah. Life is good.

A bit of a crazy day at work with black friday but still pretty good. I also learned a very valuable lesson last night. Whatever you do, do not doze off in a shiatzu massage chair. I have two lines of bruising up my back that start just at my waist and go up to just below my shoulders and it's really bad just at the shoulder blades and middle of my back.

Poor you! Hopefully they'll give you lots of sympathy at work, and nobody will offer you a massage to ease the pain.
I just officially won NaNoWriMo 2009.
The first draft's not done-done, but it's over 50K, which is all NaNo cares about. So --

I just officially won NaNoWriMo 2009.
