My own little northern exposure

Post by lorin »

Well, an interesting development in my strange life........

I have recently been offered an interview as deputy mayor of a tiny little town in Washington State. I applied for this job on a fluke when I saw the ad on Craigs List.

The population of the town is 6000ish. Some may know I am a city manager in New York City. This job offers polar changes on so many levels.
East to West Coast, 6 million to 6000, city to country.........

I am going to take the interview, who knows.........time for a change.

That is wonderful news, Lorin. I believe you will be very taken with this part of the country...

Hopefully, the decisionmakers in the town will be impressed with you and offer you the position. It isn't Roslyn (the real life town used for the location shots of Cicely, AK) is it? How cool would that be?

well, I didn't get this job but there has to be more little towns in the Pacific North West that might need a burnt out new york city manager.

back to the classifieds..............

of course, I am open to opportunities in the midwest, southwest, south america, Thailand, China, India, Africa, Sahara, Antartica. Anywhere I can bring my helldog and is not called "The Tri-state area."

Indeed. Sorry to hear that this fell through. Keep looking. Get an interview out here and come meet some of the western Watchers.

You're right, there are lots and lots of cities and towns out there. Hang in there.
