We spent all day yesterday traveling. Delayed leaving Denver, delayed again leaving Dallas. Finally got home at about 9:30 last night.

But the important thing is that we *are* home. So it's all good.
Magickmaker's dad and new wife came over this afternoon. Tomorrow is the Yule get-together for my book club; then Magickmaker and I are going to see "Young Frankenstein, the Musical" at the Kennedy Center tomorrow night. I'll let y'all know how it is...
And I'm typing to you from a new-to-me laptop.

Magickmaker bought herself a MacBook Pro this fall (the better to WoW with

) but had kept her old Dell because her Dell printer wasn't Mac compatible. So among her Yule presents from me was a new printer, so that she could bequeath to me her Dell laptop and printer.

I'm excited that I'll be able to play Bejeweled on this baby without the game freezing on me (whoo hoo!). The other problem with her Dell is that the battery's dead, but as I plan to use it solely as a desktop machine, that's not a problem for me. Eventually I'll retire my Acer laptop completely and get a netbook for traveling. The Acer runs *very* hot, and so requires lugging along a cooling mat; also, the left-click button on the touchpad is intermittent so I have to use a mouse, and the sound isn't very loud so I kind of need speakers -- none of which is an issue with the Dell. (Yet.)
