I'm struck by the irony of my choosing not to make a comment about someone needing to use more tact because, well, it didn't seem tactful.

An interesting position to be in, for sure, Murrin.

I will say, as someone who wouldn't know tact if it jumped up and bit me, I do appreciate it when my being tactless is pointed out to me. I usually fail to learn from it, and make the same errors over and over again, but at least if it is pointed out I can attempt to apologize to whomever I was tactless to and try to make it right...

:LOLS: I hate that. I hate that when you restrain yourself from making a tactless comment, nobody ever knows that you've restrained yourself.

I feel sick. This is my own fault: my friend Fe and I consumed a whole slab of beer last night between the two of us. She then climbed a tree out the back of our house, and then ran down the road and climbed some big gum with me yelling (as softly as I could, coz it was 1am) "Get out of the f***ing tree Fe!" But, yeah: then we drank wine....urgh....

However, my brain did shut off that part of it that's really annoying and thinks far too much for a good 6 or so hours so that's a good thing! [wow...and I must be hungover: that's a terribly wordy sentence!]

Totally agree.

I just redid all the piping under both of my kitchen sinks and the garbage disposal, it works perfectly, it doesn't clog any more, and it cost just 7.58!!! 8O Apparently my idiot plumber used plumbing cement and some of that clogged it up and it caused on link (or "screw") to break-the guy at Home Depot said you only use washers and never cement or caulk for new PVC pipe.

case/deck/slab means 24 tins where I come from.

for some reason 'slab' would be used when you're also using it for a seat

 I love that scene in LOTR!

But yeah, you guys are right: a slab is 24 beers (you can get slabs of cans and bottles here).

My PMs don't seem to be working - just checked email and I've had five notifications in the last week that a new PM has arrived, but I have not received any of them. Sooo.... anyone who has PM'd me recently, I'm not ignoring you. :?

First week at new job (well, Monday was a bank holiday) completd. It went well. Still waiting for all the accesses to get set up, which could take a while. I think it's going to be a good match. Get paid on the 15th every month so my first full paycheck is seven weeks off. Ugh!

So, I feel good. :D
