I'll try like hell Lucimay! Thanks for the congrats guys. I just went and had my brows done at benefits and I'm dying my hair Molly Ringwald red as a celebration. I guess some folks are pissed off that I jumped a few steps so quick but I do have the experience and the UofO education behind me so that counts for something plus Gary was very insistent on getting me in this position due to our experience with one another from the years at the shop so he knows my customer skills having been one of my whinier customers himself. Also apparently this job opened up rather suddenly just when they were trying to figure out how to give me what I need to stay on anyway. It means six months minimum as a "management trainee" and then a waiting game until a position opens up. I don't want to leave you Sorus and from the discussions I have been having with Jacob and Gary it sounds like I'll be covering managers on vacation and when in a bind at our store pretty regularly. I guess the plan is that whoever gets me more for the week has to pay my paycheck.
So anyway, Sorus when you see me tomorrow, even if the bright coppery red looks terrible, lie to me, please... Then after a week tell me the truth so I can dye it back.

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

OOH! I am RED HEADED! Actually it looks pretty damn natural. Thank you Garnier Nutrisse! It's not as light as I wanted but it's close. I am about two shades darker than Molly Ringwald but the same basic tint.

Congrats Jenn! (And I mean on the redhead development, I've worked with too many miserable retail management types, to congratulate you on that, yet!)

Today I've got a headcold but the drugs are working so far, so I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and go to a gig in Oxford tonight. probably suffer for it tomorrow, but *shrug* I'll be in the right place!

I hope Sea didn't get syphilis from Seafest. That was a couple years ago, wasn't it?
OHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhh...that kind of pox. Sorry. Get well.
And from red skin to red hair...congrats Cameraman Sis!

I loved being red, but found the upkeep to be more difficult than other colors. It tended to fade to a horrible orange much quicker than other colors lost their vibrancy. Now I stick with my natural silver (I hope it is more of a silver than an iron gray) streaked mousy brown.
I too am looking forward to photos of you as a redhead, Jenn!

I actually do have the pox, Stone. Chickenpox, that is. I'm 36 so it's no walk in the park...and I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I have discovered this really great stuff called Pinetarsol which my sis recommended. Ya put it in some bath water and wacko...relative relief if for a little while. Anyway, my fever didn't spike again last night so I'm hoping no new spots (hard to tell as I have quite a few already <sigh>). On the downside I think I've got one of these suckers on my bottom eyeline which I guess I'm going to have to see a doctor about. That'll be fun.Stonemaybe wrote:What's up, See? Hell, I didn't notice until you pointed it out. I've always been awful that way, and in my current state of mind I probably wouldn't notice if I was on fire. My opinion isn't worth much, but I think it looks good. Vibrant. I've already admitted I'm an unobservant idiot, so I'll shut up now.Cameraman Jenn wrote: So anyway, Sorus when you see me tomorrow, even if the bright coppery red looks terrible, lie to me, please... Feel better, Sea! That's one I don't know if I've had or not, despite being exposed many times.
Oh, a change is coming, feel these doors now closing

I feel good... as I'm finally working again. Completely in a different direction than my college major... but an agreeable enough job all the same.

Here ya go folks. Sorus, no worries.
Sea, ugh, chicken pox. That sucks big time. My sister bought and put hemmorhoid creme on her kids when they had it and she said it helped the itching a lot. Numbs the skin and takes down the bump swelling. Apparently it smells bad but it might be worth it if it numbs it for a few hours.

*wince* Ow! I'm sure you're doing the right things already, but here's what I'd recommend (I'll put UK brand names in brackets, probably different but you never know). For the eyelid, if it's affecting your vision you probably should see doc but otherwise you could use a witch hazel - also called Hamamelis virginiana -eye wash (Optrex) that is an astringent so it's cooling and soothing and ahhhhh and obviously eye wash formulation is safe around your eyes. Someone else mentioned Benadryl - certainly go for an antihistamine but I'd recommend chorphenamine (Piriton) as better for itching, though it can make some people sleepy, but that's great if the itch is keeping you awake. To apply directly, see if you can find a crotamiton cream (Eurax) or lotion might be better if the itch is all over. Some witch hazel in gel form (Witch doctor) might be nice in between crotamiton applications. And keep on with the bath thing. And painkillers as and when necessary for pain/fever.Seareach wrote:I actually do have the pox, Stone. Chickenpox, that is. I'm 36 so it's no walk in the park...and I'm just feeling sorry for myself. Yes, Sea, to Obi-Stone you listen! Only a fully trained Jedi Knight with the Pharmacy as his ally can hope to defeat Pox Vader and his Chicken Emperor.
Congrats on your new position, CMJ! I stay away from the politics of promotion, so I've no comment on any of that.
Wearable fire alarms should do the trick! Of course, someone still has to invent them first.Sorus wrote:...in my current state of mind I probably wouldn't notice if I was on fire.

Hey, hey, hey....what's wrong with that color?Cameraman Jenn wrote:Here ya go folks. Sorus, no worries. Jacob claimed he didn't notice but I think he was just being bitter about me making him eat low carbs/salads with grilled meat for lunch lately. Ryan said, "I would say something about your hair but I hate you now for leaving me just when I finally get someone in that I can work with." Of course I omitted the swear words from his actual statement... And I don't think anyone else noticed at all.
