I feel good. Just got back from a nice dinner gathering with a bunch of the FBH crowd. Julie, Julie's husband Mike, Heatherly, Lord Mormon, Lord Mormon's girlfriend Leotta, Thomas Covenant, Osondrea/ranyhyn, the O'Higgins brothers both, Tadhg and Niall, Atrium/retarted ranyhyn/karotica/woman with severed hand, King's Henchman/hot teenage girls ep 1, and their son Ethan, Bloodguard Bob and Tamarantha. It was a happy yet sad occasion. Seth aka Lord Mormon and his gal are moving to Portland next week. He will be sorely missed as he is both a talent on screen and now will not be filling the role we were writing for him in our next venture but more so because I love him very much. It was great gathering the friends together and it was the first time I got to see Tadhg with short hair. Good times were had by all.

They ARE great people. I have been so amazingly lucky when it comes to the friends I have made in this life. So many interesting and amazingly cool people, yourself included Sea. I don't think there are words that would ever accurately express how lucky I feel when I think of my friends.

I'm wiped after cleaning house yesterday like mad, swimming for the first time since Seafest (we joined the Y), and participating in a VERY tough fantasy baseball draft (that included Kinslaughterer, Cleburne and my friend Mike). :faint:

I can't believe it's snowing here again, with more forecast for tomorrow 8O

At least I'm off work tomorrow, so won't have to negotiate the roads in a rear wheel drive, automatic car.

On the positive side, I've managed to paint both the childrens rooms in the past week, put up some shelves and moved a few bits of furniture round - the house is finally getting back to normal after the extension was finished.

Job still to do - dig out and construct a base for a garden shed - was thinking about starting that tomorrow, but no chance now that the snow is here again.

Phantasm: You just gave me a good reason not to move to Scotland -- snow in almost-April.... 8O

Sea: Have a great visit with the family!

Spent the day apartment hunting. I visited 9 complexes, so my brain is pretty fried. At least I was smart enough to take notes, or I'd be totally lost right now.... I've narrowed the list of possibilities to two or three. Hmm, maybe I should tell the current landlord that I'm moving out, huh?

I feel annoyed yet totally vindicated. Today my boss came in and there was a complaint about my co-worker that was emailed to corporate from the website complaint department. My boss took my co-worker to task and he was seriously trying to explain the customer and wasn't getting through. He called me to come back him up since I was there for two of the three in person experiences and one sided for a few phone calls. I tried explaining it to Jacob. I carefully stressed that my coworker used serious patience when explaining in detail why the artwork was not usable amongst other things and how she didn't explain clearly what she wanted and was confusing things like stamp and embosser and that she was crazy and had no idea what she was talking about and completely adamant that she was right and that we were incompetent idiots because she has all this education and experience so she knows everything she wants can be perfect from the files provided and so forth. He still didn't get it. He called the customer and I stayed for the phone call but only got to hear it one sided. We communicated during his conversation with her by writing messages to one another on paper. I repeatedly told him she was crazy and that the things she was saying were total bull. He got off the phone with her after convincing her to come in and assuring her that he would try to fix all the issues. She came in. She was there for FIVE hours babbling non stop and after about the first ten minutes Jacob realized that when I meant crazy, I meant like clinically in need of medication and intensive therapy crazy. FIVE hours. When she finally left at 8:50, (we close at 7) and we locked the door behind her, Jacob was like, "HOLY CRAP!" And I said repeatedly, "I tried to tell you." I made Jacob call my co-worker and apologize which he actually did do with enthusiasm.
He also admitted that had he understood the extent of insanity he would totally have let this one slide through to headquarters. Unfortunately we are now stuck with her and doing all sorts of time consuming expensive work for free. On the bright side, I told Jacob that she's his exclusively and he's on his own. Maybe next time I tell him a customer is seriously crazy he will believe me. The part that gets me the most is that Ryan and I are working our butts off to get the copy center profits up and we were doing great but this month it's been one screw up from the IRG order center after another so we are already fixing issues beyond our control and taking the hit and in this case all this free crap the copy center will be doing for this customer is going to set us back another seriously hefty chunk. Our numbers are gonna suck this month.

Which just goes to show that the old standby rule "the customer is always right" is bunk. As I've mentioned before, I'm not in retail, but dealing with people is a big part of my job. After 20 years of it, I'm left with a not very high opinion of the general public.

Sorry your store got stuck with this particular nutcase, CMJ, but I'm glad she's not your direct responsibility. She talked for five hours? That's a lot of saliva.

Yes, over five hours actually, I am not exaggerating. There is security camera time marked tape to prove it.

"What's Going On?" just played on the radio, and all I could think about was the FBH intro. I will probably never be able to hear it without that coming to mind, heh.

A local band always plays the song, and it always brings FBH to mind.

I am sporting a mohawk...just not on my head.

But yeah, going to Joburg to visit Avatar would be a fantastic trip, and a dream vacation some day.

Enjoy, Caggy. In fact, if you'd told me earlier I'd have come over and hung out with ya. We could have gone and seen Avatar together. Sadly, I'm one of the few people on the planet who still hasn't seen it. :(
Sea, you are welcome any time you want. And if you want it to just be you and me, I can find an excuse and get a hotel room. Raaaaawwwwwwwwrrrrrr!

I just want to apologize for the majority of my last post (other than the desire to visit Africa). All I can say in my defense is that I was under the influence of a deplorable lack of sleep and having just listened to Nick Cave's version of Stagger Lee. I felt I was being tame in comparison. If you read the lyrics to his version of Stagger Lee, you'll see why. I think I'd have to put that song down as the most shocking and offensive song lyric-wise that I own, and I include Fear into that mix.

Not in the mood to go to work today. Especially since I know the nutter is going to be back in to work with Jacob some more. Ugh.
